Hearing aid
Hearing aids should bring the sound down, mine do, but I still hear t. I would get in touch with them, but it does take time to get used to hearing aids.
Perfectly normal I would suggest. You're going to be focusing on what you can hear with your new HA's and this will naturally focus your attention on your T as well. It can sometimes take a while to get used to HA's, so I'd persevere it with it for a few weeks to see how you get on before going back to your provider.
HA's won't get rid of your T, but they should reduce the loudness / intensity / impact of it over time. Might not be much of a reduction, but every little helps.
I had just the one hearing aid to begin with and I was told it’s job was to pick up other sounds that would distract me from my T. It worked in that way but never reduced my T sounds in any way. Stick with it like I did then ask later to get hearing aids with masking sounds fitted for both ears. That’s what I now have and I notice the difference in my hearing and they block out most of T sounds though not all.
Hi there
I too have quite loud tinnitus which have had all life and about 8/10 yrs ago was finally tested and have mod/severe hearing loss in both ears. Earlier last year I finally gave in and now use 2 aids (loss from birth apparently hence lifelong tinnitus). I agree with members comments that suggest you persevere as took me months to get used to mine. I also felt that using them made the t worse but it has kinda gone back to how it was. When I take the aidss out I often feel like the t has got a whole lot louder but it' hasn't really. Using them obviously helps me hear better and also Ames the t seem quieter than normal bit on GTA king them out it seems louder than ever. Over time I'm used to this and on balance they hav affected things for me. Stick with it but if you have concerns I think maybe talk to you audio or provider.
Good luck
