Has anyone had experience of using white noise or acupuncture

Hi I've never had acupuncture, but I'm using hearing aids with white noise generators. They do take the edge off the t. I do have hearing loss in both ears and it's amazing how much the t reduces when the aids go in. I can still hear it over the white noise, but that's what you'e supposed to do to trick the brain into rewiring itself. Fingers crossed as it's driving me mad 😠

I have the white noise generators and whilst some days nothing covers my screeching they are definitely a help, I also had acupuncture for the first time 2 weeks ago, if you go be prepared for a spike ( I’d read about it, so was prepared) didn’t do anything for the tinnitus but made me much calmer, I will go back for more.

That’s interesting. I see a homeopath and she says symptoms worsen before they improve. Let’s hope so 🙂

Hi,I tried three sessions of acupuncture and 6 with chiropractor and done nothing for tinnitus.

Hi, I haven't had acupuncture, but I have been wearing white noise generators since September 2016. Tinnitus was only in my right ear when it started. Before I started wearing the generators I was told to wear them in both ears. I did this, now I have T in both ears, probably would have happened anyway. They help at times but I haven't habituated I'm afraid.

Hi there I’ve had 8 session of acupuncture and I would say it definitely helps but will not cure it. But it does help it makes you feel much more comfortable about your condition I had to stop because I couldn’t afford keep paying £40 a go believe me if I had the cash I would have it twice a week good luck

There's no research evidence that acupuncture is any better for tinnitus than a placebo treatment overall (the results differ depending on whether the research has been conducted in China or elsewhere) but white noise - in fact sound in general - has been shown to be beneficial for reducing tinnitus intrusiveness.
