Due to a couple of issues that have arisen over the last few days, I would like to remind all users about our community rules, which are below. If you have any questions or comments, please do get in contact.

The aim of this community is to provide a supportive, helpful, informative and friendly community for people affected by tinnitus and hyperacusis, for those who want to find out more about tinnitus and related conditions.

We have drawn up a few community rules for your safety, and to keep the BTA communities a healthy and constructive environment for discussion, advice and support.

USERS

Users of this forum should be over 16 years of age. If you are under 16, please get your parent/guardian to contact our Communications Manager on 0114 250 9933 or info@tinnitus.org.uk to give permission.

Only one registration is allowed per person. Multiple user memberships are not permitted.

Please keep your log in details and password secure and confidential.

RULES

By using this website, you agree to post information drawn from our personal experience. Members posting and/or answering questions here should not be assumed to be health professionals.

We would encourage that all posts are kept under a topic, and that new posts are started for off-topic posts, or when the subject of the conversation has substantially changed.

A new post should be started to discuss a new issue or question.

Please don't:

Post anything that is in any way offensive, harmful, unpleasant, inappropriate, threatening, fraudulent, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, false, libellous, unreliable, misleading, harassing, intimidating, infringing, obscene or otherwise objectionable.

Post any personal contact information on the site, although you may choose to do so via messaging.

Have any contact information or offensive words/phrases in your user name.

Use this forum in an unlawful manner, or in a way which could disable or damage it.

Advertise or promote goods or services for profit.

Post ‘spam’ – i.e. posts containing the same, or similar, message posted multiple times

Users should report any abusive or inappropriate posts. We reserve the right to remove such posts and to terminate the membership of those responsible.

DISCLAIMER

Any views or opinions posted here are the member's own and not those of the British Tinnitus Association.
