Welcome to the BTA community Caraid.

Tinnitus can flair up for lots of reasons like a virus, ear infection, wax build up,a loud sound, stress and anxiety and listening to loud music .

Always wise pop in see your doctor to rule out some of the above.

Sound therapy can help in the day so play somthing nice with no deep bass sounds and at night somthing like white noise or pink noise or natural sounds but set it below your tinnitus.

Pillow speakers or free standing units work well and ipods and mobiles with downloadable apps are good but dont use headphones or earphones until you have adapted or tinnitus settles and then just for short periods on low.

If your tinnitus started through noise exposure I would not use head or earphones.

Please let us know if you have been to ENT or audiology so we can advise you more...lots of love glynis
