Wonder why one becomes intolerant of mlk and fruit sugars, and why doctors blame all in the mind or stress for IBS when tests for sugars could be done first, It has taken almost 2 years to sus out. Surely on hind site this sort of test should be thought of . We are not doctors so we dont understand about food intolerance or allergy. I never thought pains were due to fruits/sugars but the bad discomfort fell into place after pears and lasted hours. Was a big fruit eater so no wonder the pains continued. Any idea what caused your fruit intolerance. Fruit is supposed to be healthy. This IBS doesnt make sense why it happens.

Pear is very high in fructose and polyols, which can trigger IBS if you are sensitive to FODMAPs.

I have found I cannot eat apples or pears(fruit from this family). Check out FODMAPS as it may help you to avoid certain fruits and veges. I find bananas, berries and citrus fruits are good for me :)
