I’m going through some big changes in my lift at the moment which I know is the reason for my IBS to be in a constant flare up but I’m getting so tired from it as its making my more stressed and upset. I have certain phobias that make if difficult to sleep at night anyway but add in the flare ups of pain and IBS-D and the sleep is very lacking.
I tried taking Mirtazipine for the anxiety and to help sleep but it caused such a disruption to my eating habits and weight gain I had to stop this.
I am due to be going totally out of my comfort zone tomorrow evening with work colleagues for my leaving drinks but every fibre in my body is saying cancel, do not go. However I do not want yet another thing cancelled or ruined to IBS.
Thank you,
Lou

There is always someone worse off, remember that. I thought my Kidney issues were due to IBS, gluten. Turns out I might have ANCA vasculitis, which effects 1/100k people. Basically , my immune system is destroying my organs, the way to combat this is to destroy my immune system with drugs that will destroy my organs. Lose lose. I love just to have IBS.
Prepare yourself before hand Louabelle, suggest taking a loperaminde, and a little emergency kit this will ease anxiety. You can do it one night out, manage your IBS, don't let it manage you. Let us know how it goes and good luck🍀
I would say take some meds and or wear some protection and go out and have some fun. Prep your friends to let them know you may have to leave early. That way if you get into trouble you already have an excuse to you be able to leave.
I think just being open and honest about your ibs problems even if it dosnt make the best topic of conversation, it helps people understand unfortunately anxiety can make symptoms worse I know all about it.
