Sick of daily upset stomach. Always gurgling and grumbling and I'm dashing to the toilet every morning. Can't get a break from it 😔

Have you been diagnosed IBS?

I got bad food poisoning as a child and the specialist said I'd most likely develop bad IBS when I got older. I've been to doctors since this started happening and had bloods and a stool sample checked and all came back clear but that's only tests I've had. Because they were clear doctor was reluctant to send for any others

Ask your doctor if you can be tested for bile acid malabsorption. I had similar issues. Would eat and within 20 minutes my stomach would gurgle and I would need to dash to the toilet quickly and have diarrhoea. For years I was told it was lack of fibre or IBS or must be something I’m eating so cut things out like dairy and gluten. Nothing. It got worse over the years to the point I was being sick too. Finally saw a consultant and she knew straight away. The test is simple. You swallow a tablet containing a small amount of radio therapy and have a sehcat scan. Then another scan a week later. It tests your retention. Anyway very non invasive and surprise surprise it came back positive. So now I take a binder called questran and although it causes cramps it’s better than dashing to the toilet and worrying you’re going to have an accident! I suggest you make a note of every time it happens for say 2 weeks and show the doctor. Good luck.
