Lymphatic and pulmonary tuberculosis relapsed

Recently i had relapsed and was again diagnosed with pulmonary and extra pulmonary tuberculosis.

I started my medication on 23rd August, for the first week i was doing fine did not have any severe side effects but after sunday i have been vomiting continuously and even saw blood which has really demotivated me and I’m scared.

I have been unable to hold on to food or even water, and I’m constantly nauseous and have already puked atleast 11-12 times today itself. Plus when on empty stomach i puke a bitter yellow liquid. Can anyone let me know if this is common or should i consult the doctor.

Definitely go back to your doctor who can decide whether any change to your medications is required. Paul, TB Alert

TB antibiotics are very strong and can cause side effects. See your doctor - he might be able to change the dosage/cocktail of drugs.

Hi Tiggaaa,

How are you feeling now? has your doctor been able to help?

We recommend small and regular protein rich meals to help you tolerate the treatment when you have very little appetite. Nut butters are particularly good for giving you energy and helping line the stomach so you feel less nauseous,

Best wishes,

Helen
