I learnt few things from these 6 months encounter with TB:
Firstly, life always surprises you with positive and negative news, always prepared for them.
Secondly, first step towards facing any situation is to accept it, generally we accept positive news more easily than negative ones whereas accepting negativity is more important.
Thirdly, pre-counselling regarding any disease being diagnosed is very very important. Detailed discussion about possible side effects, common and rare both plays very important role in fighting with disease.
Fourth, make sure that your doctor must go through your medical history, and discuss its interaction with new disease, try to clear all of your doubts before starting medicine.
Fifth, tips and tricks must be told by medical practitioners which can help to manage side effects, if not all, atleast as many as possible.
Sixth, make efforts at your level too. Though you cant rely on google for medical diagnosis, medication but sometimes you get lot of information from google regarding the diagnosed disease and suggestions to manage possible side effects. Try to get connected with patients sailing in the same boat as yours. Though , every body is different and reacts differently but still you get lot of information and options to manage your side effects. Most importantly, you get emotional support that you’re not alone who is experiencing these side effects.
I want to conclude it by saying that TB is fully curable with proper course of medication and with acceptance, help from medical practitioners, self-effort ,most of the side effects are manageable…..pratyaya singh #tuberculosis #cervical lymphaditis #disease #fighting disease #Acceptance #being strong #lifelessons #life experiences
