Hello, I have previously called in sick to work about three or four weeks ago because I had been feeling light headed and weak due to my eating disorder and when I called they didn't ask me what was wrong. I have been feeling this way again lately which is not helped by my anxiety condition which always worsens around the Christmas period it's a time that makes me feel depressed and anxious. I was just wondering are mental health conditions a legitimate reason for calling in sick if how I'm feeling worsens? If anyone had called in sick due to mental health reasons before what did you say / would you say if pressed to explain ?

Also, Happy Christmas everyone I wish you a happy and healthy Christmas and new year xx 😊🎉🎁

I hope you are getting some medical and counselling support for your problem. I had similar problems re light headed and weak due to my anorexia - and I would suggest a visit to your GP is needed if you haven't got medical help - my works didn't need to be told I had a problem - and when they noticed how difficult I found it walking up stairs they actually referred me to the works GP and I was immediately put on sick leave. They were really supportive and it gave me the kick I needed to recognise it was time to get help - its up to you whether you tell your employers what the problem is - but I would urge you to get some medical help in any event. Good luck
