Xolair- Any advice?
Hi there, I have been told that I qualify for the
xolair
injection trial for 16 weeks. I am meeting with my consultant in a few weeks to discuss it and let him know if I want to go ahead. Does anyone have any experience of
xolair
- in particular the side effects people have experienced.

I've tried symbricort which didn't work for me and cetrizine 10mg which gave me a bad rash so was taken off it, and I don't know whats happening with
Xolair
as I don't think my ige levels are high enough to qualify for it. Is there anything else I could try? thank you ally xx

Funding :S
Also I was wondering what success people had had in getting funding for
Xolair
- my consultant has said he is going to write to the PCT again to ask for funding for this. Surely that's never going to happen if we havent even heard back about Grazax. Feel free to PM me if thats easier than replying.

xolair should be widely available to anyone who is eligable for it !!!!
I felt that nothing would work for me but then i was told about a clinical trial involving a new drug called
xolair
(omalizumab). I jumped at the chance. The results were amazing I can live my life now i am now completely off prednisolone and have never had to use my salbutamol inhalers.

What comes next for little ones?
Xolair
has been ruled out due to NHS guidelines. She is admitted to hospital at least every 4-6 weeks for several days at a time. Any guidance would be great.

Just a bit of a moan-sorry!!
I have loads of allergies and anaphylaxis, but my IgE levels for some reason are always really low, so can't get
Xolair
.(otherwise I would, very frustrating) My life seems to exist around months of high dose steroids and nebulisers, I have a home neb which keeps me out of hospital.

Xolair?
My consultant is thinking of trialling me on
Xolair
, I have brittle asthma which results in frequent time off work and changes in meds, my Ige level is sky high so it's all allergic and he's considering trialling this? Anyone have any experience of it??? Thanks in advance, Jane.

What is my next step in terms of treatment?
I am now on
Xolair
, the injection to treat against allergies. The problem is, I feel as though I am hitting my 'head against a brick wall', as I feel no better, and it is affecting quality of life.

Possible self referral?
I have had the
Xolair
trial which was unsuccessful, and have been started on Phyllocontin tablets, which I have been taking for over a month. I have not noticed any vast improvements at all, I am still off work and have very good days and very bad days where my peak flow is low.

Back on xolair
If so will they rise again if
xolair
starts to work and he is weaned of them making the
xolair
less effective again? Just dont want to put my son through fortnightly injections for another 4 months to find it was only the steroids that reduced ige.
