Working abroad with asthma- healthcare costs etc
I have severe asthma and alongside the usual concoction of inhalers, tablets, etc I have
xolair
injections every three weeks. I end up in hospital (including ITU) quite frequently but I have only had three admissions in the last 12 months which shows that things are getting more stable.

Not sure how to proceed anymore
She has tried everything and isn't a candidate for
Xolair
due to her age and low IGe levels (only 100). I don't know what to do anymore and I feel so helpless. My daughter is getting worse and our consultant called it a ""bad run of luck."" Ticked me off!

chronic asthma methotrexate
We have been trying for omalizumab (
Xolair
) but now his IgE is out of range, so there is no joy there. He is not responding to IV Amonophollin,Steroids no longer work, nor his Terbutaline sub-cut. and consultants are suggesting Methotrexate.

Hi everyone, my son has had Omalizumab now since june 14th 2007, he is only 10 years old and it is not licenced to children under the age of 12 years old. It has had a positive effect on my son and has definitely helped towards not having as many courses of Prednisolone.... No one can tell me what the

The last few years he has had nearly 30 admissions and missed loads of school holidays and family events, plus doing fortnightly
Xolair
for 18 months, so he feels the weekly blood tests are just too much for him at this point so he is very unhappy at the prospect of them, but at the same time we know

We're back and may need Xolair.
To cut a long story short, we are now waiting to hear if the PCT will fund her
Xolair
injections. She has had 5 admissions since November, lots of time off school and is generally fed up, Bless her !!

childrens medication
We were told yesterday she has been refused
xolair
(although she meets all the critiria) but the hospital is appealing that so we have to wait. In the mean time they want to add in triamcinolone and methotrexate just to try and give her a bit more of a 'normal' life.

What comes next?
Xolair
has been ruled out due to NHS guidelines. She is admitted to hospital at least every 4-6 weeks for several days at a time. Any guidance would be great.

Now been referred to ""Councilling!
Think they are really clutching at straws now and scratching their collective heads and have proposed
xolair
and a referral to a councillor. Not sure i know what to feel about this. 1. Does the Dr think im a mad woman keeping my girl sick or making up her asthma attacks? 2. Am I that paranoid? 3.

Severe asthma - Unconventional Treatment
I am on every asthma medication available, including at least 40 mg of prednisone a day,
xolair
, and ivig. my docs are now suggesting trying more aggresive treatments, as my pft's are slowly drifting down and begining to become irreversible. they are suggesting cellcept, and antirejection drug, or even

Xolair and Tiredness
I was wondering if anyone here on
Xolair
had problems with extreme tiredness as a side-effect? It is a known side-effect and I tell the hospital every time I go and they duly record it, but it just seems to be something I have to put up with.

Brompton Severe Asthma Clinic
I've done
Xolair
etc and every kind of elimination diet and they haven't really helped. Its sounds weird but I go to hospital quite a lot usually consisting of a week in ITU and then HDU etc and it's all very last minute as briitle asthma is.
