Bricanyl MDI
I am confused because I went to see my consultant last Thursday and she prescribed bricanyl MDI to me for the first time instead of
salbutamol
. She did this because I get really bad shakes with the
salbutamol
. She also changed my becotide to flixotide. Anyone any ideas why she did this?

How do you know when to go to the doctor?
I was diagnosed a couple of years ago, I'm generally mild and exercise induced, I only use
salbutamol
and antihistamines as far as medication for asthma. The nurse keeps saying we might put you onto a steroid inhaler but we'll see. So my question is when do you go to the doctors for a flare up?

Asthma control over Christmas
My asthma's been pretty unpredictable since the weather turned colder, twice daily peak flows look great, but I keep having sudden attacks which take a lot of
salbutamol
to bring under control.

Hi from a new member
I was taken to hospital and they give me continuous nebs for 2 hours, then IV
salbutamol
, prednisone, and IV magnesium. The strange thing was that my oxygen stats where still fine at 96%.

Self-inflicted suffering
I finished the run in 1hr 17 mins 21secs which i was actually quite pleased with :-) I had to use my inhaler again once i'd finished and unfortunately now the effects are only lasting a couple of hours and i have a permanent slight case of ""
salbutamol
shakes"".

salbutamol weirdness.
I'm fine with
salbutamol
nebs, but they're usually mixed with atrovent if that's relevant.

Not improving
Been on 7 days of prednisolone and have 3 days of course to take...... trouble is i'm still struggling,
salbutamol
inhaler isn't helping much either. I currently take seretide 500 twice dailly and have been well controlled until now on that. Shouldn't the oral steroids of made an impact by now?

3 down, Hoping not 1 to go!
So she prescribed me a
salbutamol
and the steroid inhaler (never can remember which one it is), told to go back in a week and if no better will be referred for chest x-ray. Am hoping it doesn't come to this as I'm feeling better at the moment and am catching up on sleep.

Relievers for reversibility test
I seem to respond better to Atrovent and best to both
salbutamol
and ipratropium combined. Is there any way of requesting an alternative to
salbutamol
?

Rapid acceleration of symptoms after diagnosis
I was diagnosed with adult onset asthma (mild) about 6 months ago, and since then I've gone from using
Salbutamol
, to using Beclometasone, and today have had salmeterol inhaler added to the collection. Seems that since diagnosis my respiratory health has declined rapidly.

Reliever used for reversibility testing
Saw on the form today they want to do another reversibility test, using
salbutamol
again. Is there any way of asking them to use something else, maybe Atrovent?

Diet and nutrition
Fortunately it has been well managed with Becotide/Clenil and
salbutamol
but this year I have been having trouble (good peak flow and no wheezing but very breathless). I am now on Seretide 125 and had some Pred tablets recently too. I am not that keen on Seretide to be honest.

types of chestpain
i cannot explain how it feels except it ""hurts"". no, it does not particularly make my breathing harder, but it does not help either. i dont really know to be honest, as i tend to have to sit down when the pain comes as it hurts. going up the stairs makes it worse.
salbutamol
has occasionally helped

Novovirus
The Nurses did brilliantly in a very difficult situation but they kept running out of basics like
Salbutamol
nebs and Atrovent nebs and not understanding the importance of having 4 hourly nebs. Aargh!

Walk in centres grrr!
They also refused to see someone who wanted a
salbutamol
inhaler and sound quite breathless! I thought that was really bad and wanted to shout out to her that she could go to the pharmacy and they'd probably be able to give her one.

Out of control asthma: how do I survive?
I have a *probable* dx of intrinsic asthma - the ""challenge"" test of a few weeks ago indicated that I don't have the allergic type. They seem to have eliminated other causes for my chronic cough, chest tightness and wheezing...every year I get a ""cold"" that lasts 2-3 months, then I still cough when

First appointment with asthma clinic
I was prescribed 100mcg beclomethasone,
salbutamol
when needed, and waved on my way. I've finally braced myself and booked in with the asthma clinic, and now I'm twitchy. Eep!
