Fostair

Hey all, Just back in from seeing my asthma nurse and she's put me on the Fostair inhaler in the hope of better controlling it. I hadn't heard of it before - I'd be grateful if anyone on it/has been on it could let me know what its like, I just want something that works! Natalie

If you're on Fostair do you get similar warnings from your chemist and how do you keep it cold? Thank you.

I am looking for some advice because I am so fed up of suffering with the side effects of inhalers. Does anyone know if there are any such things as non-steroidal preventer inhalers? Every time I use a steroid inhaler (preventer) for anything more than 3-5 days, I stiffen up. My whole upper body

I would say I have moderate asthma (generally well controlled with fostair and salbutamol). Except that when I get a cold/cough I have ended up on steroids three times in last year - which is a lot for me (progression of disease?) - before that only had steroids about ten years ago.

However, I received a letter from my gp surgery telling me that they would like to offer me the chance to try fostair.

I've had budesonide [pulmicort], budesonide/formoterol 100/6 [symbicort], Beclometasone/Formoterol [fostair] and am now on the fostair along with montelukast [singulair] tablets.

I did try seretide but that was no good so that leaves fostair. Anyone out there got experience of using this? Or any other suggestions I could try on my GP? Thanks

For note - I used ventolin before my run (4 puffs) and I swapped from Seretide (250, 2 puffs twice a day) to Fostair (100/6, 2 puffs twice a day) about 2 weeks ago A long post I'm sorry and appologies if this has appeared on the forum before but I couldn't find answers in

A week ago my doc suggested increasing the fostair dose to 6 doses per day instead of the normal 4 this has helped a bit but I'm concerned that I'm exceeding that stated maximum dose . I'm currently on spriva, singular, fostair and cetirizine.

Hi, my asthma has recently got really bad, affecting my day to day activities and making me generally feel rubbish so the doctors have swapped me from symbicort 400/12 to fostair. Has anyone else been swapped like this and have they found that it helps? Thanks :)

Hi, I've just been given Fostair, I've been on pred 2 weeks, start week 3 tomorrow now down to 20mg. My doc says I'm to take 4 puffs am and pm for a few days then down to 2 puffs am and pm. I'm a little worried as it says max dose 4 puffs daily.

So along with the fact the Fostair has made my symptoms so much worse, I'm back off to the nurse next week. The AUK nurse suggested (A) separating the steroid and LABA, then reducing the LABA portion to reduce the cramps, but increasing the steroid to regain control even when exercising.

I've mentioned it to the doc and he's swapped me from Seretide to Fostair - this has had no effect.

Been moved from Seretide to Fostair since having trouble with leg cramps/muscle aches related to Seretide doseage. Does anyone have any first hand experience of Fostair? The info leaflet looks a little scary and has worried me!!

Went back to a different GP who put me on fostair to try - amazing - worked instantly felt so much better. Had a review after 2 months where GP told me to come off inhalers as I had rarely needed the blue one and symptoms had decreased and I didn't have asthma.

;) Meds - Flixtotide 250, Fostair 100/6, Siriva Respimat, Fexofenadine, Kenalog, Prednisolone (40mg a day), Ventolin nebs and inhaler.

I have been prescribed a succession of inhalers since 1992 when, at the age of 52, my shortness of breath during exercise was diagnosed as due to asthma. I've had blue, brown, purple inhalers but until the latest one, a shocking pink colour, I was resigned to further curtailment of my mountain biking

Well I assumed that this was quite a high dosage and that it should get my asthma under control (prior to the Seretide, I was on 8 puffs a day of Fostair and using my Ventolin sometimes 3 or 4 times a day).

Has anyone been on this medication if I put it into the search I cannot find it (Fostair) It just looks like the BLUE one but its a lot better when you first take it,but the chemist keeps it in the fridge and only lasts three months. Can anyone help with this topic. Thanks.

I am going to ask to try Symbicort probably but also might ask about Fostair. I feel a bit nervous about asking because he's never suggested it although I've been seeing him regularly for a few months because things are not very well controlled at the moment, and neither have any of my GP's.
