Fostair and coughing
So, six weeks go by with no let up in the cough and I decided to stop taking the
Fostair
. My cough all but disappeared within 24 hours. I'm convinced that
Fostair
was the culprit. Has anyone else experienced this effect? Also, it's almost impossible to clean off the spacer that I use.

Seretide v Fostair
I saw the respiratory nurse a month ago and she got me to change from my usual Seretide 500 to
Fostair
. All was well for a week or so then my SATS went off a cliff and my heart rate shot up by 20% or so. I have now changed back to the Seretide and I am slowly picking up.

MEd's changed due to cost
My Dr's surgery have said I'm not allowed Symbicort anymore as it's too expensive and they're changing me to
Fostair
. They sent out a letter to me and others, by the look of it, to let us know. No appt to discuss, just that my prescription from now on will be
Fostair
! Not very happy.

Hoping for diagnosis
And not yet diagnosed with COPD however I am on
fostair
and my second lot of steroids and antibiotics this winter due to flare up of my symptoms. I asked the Dr last time I went if she thought I had COPD and she said maybe?

Reflux and asthma?
Since then I have been on
Fostair
, Spiriva and Salbutamol. I have to take montelucast from the start. In addition I have a nasal spray and cetirizine. I also take Omeprazole and Peptac acid. Oh yes ... and I take theiCal-D3. Which to be honest, none have made a great deal difference.

Fostair not working
Hi, I am taking
fostair
and ventolin. It's just not working anymore - I can't breathe properly and am finding work difficult. When I see my nurse, she says it's the time of year etcetc. What options can I suggest to her so she doesn't just brush me off again? What has worked for you?

Aerosol sprays
I'm on xolair injections, high dose
fostair
, and ventolin I also have my own nebuliser at home. Not getting any relief. Now thinking I'm going to have to start high dose steroids again which really pees me off. Just because of a thoughtless act by a probably still smelly teenager!

Asthma Complications
To add insult to injury I now find that
Fostair
is not working, after taking it for around 15 years. I wonder if I am being given placebos or maybe the dose is reduced without my knowledge or whatever.

Not sure anymore
Since then I have had ventolin, qvar, symbicort and
fostair
. I also use montelukast. They only thing that has helped me is prednisolone - 40mg a day for 8 days and I am good for four or five weeks. The inhalers do very little. A blood test shows raised ige of 527 but no triggers.

What to do now?
I'm already on 2 puff twice a day of
fostair
(200/6), 10mg montelukast per day and ventolin when I need it. Short of giving me steroid tablets to take every day, I'm at the most he says he can do for asthma, other than starting treatment for COPD, which he is certain I haven't got.

What can I do?
heavily since Friday so went the docs on Monday who listened to my chest and said I didn't have a chest infection but she could hear wheezing and that I was having an asthma flare up/exacerbation (she suggested it could be some sort of virus or the hot/cold damp air) advised me to double up on the

No joy
I took the meds as prescribed - sadly, as before, once the pred wore off I was back to square one - the other meds have done little or nothing - the cold weather we are having in the UK means I am using my
fostair
a lot.

Asthma- Small Airways Disease Diagnosis
I've been prescribed
Fostair
to replace Seretide but this has caused constant coughing fits and now a big attack so I've had to stop. I struggle a lot with tight chest/ breathlessness/tiredness despite multiple meds and long courses of prednisolone.
