Formoterol

However, having today picked up a repeat prescription this has been substituted for Symbicort, which in addition to 200mg of Budesonide also contains Formoterol, which we understand is a broncho-dilator (or reliever).

Since then I have been on a number of treatments including Seretide, Symbicort and Formoterol/ciclesonide.

Hi all I am currently taking Oxis (formoterol) in the form of a turbohaler - however, I don't particularly like this type of inhaler and would prefer an aerosol, the obvious choice being Serevent (salmeterol). However they are different drugs, would a straight swap be possible?

I saw the my GP again today and he has also added Formoterol (Oxis) 12mg twice daily to my list of medication as he's not happy with my PF's. Just wanted to thank everyone here - all the hints and advice received on my previous post helped me ask the right questions. Cheers all :)

I've had budesonide [pulmicort], budesonide/formoterol 100/6 [symbicort], Beclometasone/Formoterol [fostair] and am now on the fostair along with montelukast [singulair] tablets.

I've only had a couple of doses but the addition of formoterol really seems to be doing the trick. Last night I had the best night's sleep I've had in ages and I'm feeling great.

So, about 2 months ago I stopped the pulmicort and was put on oxis formoterol along with my bricanyl. I can take the formoterol, one puff twice a day, with no anxiety problems at all and no sign of panic. I thought the problem was solved. Or so I thought.
