Halleluyah! Doc finally listened and changed my meds
Hi all, It's been a while. I've struggled with my medication for a while. I've felt great, until I had to take my Clenil and Serevent twice a day, then I would get asthma symptoms that would take a couple of hours to settle. I've had issues with Serevent anyway and have been on and off it a couple

Salmeterol and Crushing Chest Pain
I really need some advice... I have been struggling with asthma since February this year. I have been on a variety of different inhalers and to cut a long story short, none of them seem to agree with me. Salbutamol caused me heart palpitations and Beclometasone caused me anxiety, muscle aches and

Reaction to cold?
My asthma has been completely benign with no attacks over 18 years (becotide 2x a day through this period). However, following a cold and chest infection in Feb/March, I'm now saddled with intermittant symptoms. My doctor got my symptoms under control by adding salmeterol to my meds, but I seem to have

Salmeterol - had side effects
Just came back from the docs. He prescribed Salmeterol last Friday, but by Sunday I was having worse attacks, dizzines and nausea, so went back today. He took me straight off it. These are rare side effects (less than 1 in 10000 people experience them apparently). I'm now on a doubled up dose of Beclometasone

Rapid acceleration of symptoms after diagnosis
I was diagnosed with adult onset asthma (mild) about 6 months ago, and since then I've gone from using Salbutamol, to using Beclometasone, and today have had salmeterol inhaler added to the collection. Seems that since diagnosis my respiratory health has declined rapidly. Has anyone else experienced

First time at A&E - was scary (sorry, bit long)
Had an attack on way to work today - fortunately hubby was driving - and quickly realised wasn't getting better with Ventolin, so asked him to turn round and take me to hospital. Had to battle with the traffic back into town. By the time I got there I was nearly passing out, hyperventilating too and

Hi guys, I haven't been around in a long while, but I supposed my asthma was O.K. for a bit, or at least I had other health and life issues to deal with! And then my doctors have been giving me a bit of the run around with some of my symptoms, but I'm convinced they

Songs about asthma
Just out of interest, does anyone know any songs about/relating to asthma? The only one I can think of is Fluticasone by Luka Megurine... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5s0QRApg2Iw (Moderators, feel free to remove this if Youtube links are not permitted.) Reply if you know any more!

When to start pred/ theophylline
I'm on Seretide (
Fluticasone
/
Salmeterol
) and Montelukast. Having thought about his answer for a few weeks, I think he's right for a few reasons - and I dont think I'm bad enough (yet). I occasionally have days without using ventolin, but certainly use it most days.

HELP!! Asthma and Osteoporosis?
Hello there everybody. I hope you are well. My name is Emma Mersseman and I am currently in my fourth and final year at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. For my dissertation I am doing a survey on the association of Asthma and Osteporosis and I am desperate for your help! I originally thought

Ban of CFC Beclometasone inhalers - clenil modulite, salmeterol.
Asthma sufferers uch as myself will know this inhaler as 'the brown one' - the one with the steroids. I have been using a similar inhaler to this all my life - usage being twice in the morning and twice at night. However, I was recently pescribed a new inhaler on my repeat pescription (clenil modulite

Enough meds through the spacer?
Just started salmeterol and it gives me a sore throat and so whilst I don't particularily mind it stops me wanting to take the meds coz it really hurts when I've already got a sore throat from previous doses. If I take thesalmeterol last, through the spacer, then drink, brush my teeth, have a shower
