Switching inhalers instead of adding things - wondering about options
Saw my consultant yesterday. I was about to get discharged with 'just keep on taking the medication'. Luckily he is v good, really knows his stuff and tends to get things right with me now he knows me better. So he took me seriously when I said I didn't feel it was controlled because I can't keep control

GP restrictions on inhalers
The receptionist passed on the message from a doctor saying that they had received new ""guidelines"" that only mixed inhalers containing
fluticasone
and
salmeterol
were allowed (Seretide).

When do you say enough is enough?
I'm relatively new to AUK, so i hope this is in the right place. But i'm curious about when its time to put your foot down with your consultant/healthcare team? so far this year i've had four intensive care admission...(and its only May) and not an awful lot seems to have been done about it. I know

daughter with atypical asthma?
Can anyone relate please? My 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with asthma at 6 months old after a bad case of chicken pox. Her doctor at the time said she may have internal spots and scarring on the lungs (does this sound right?) Her symptoms became worse as she got older, and she has been under

Fluticasone inhaler
Hi there, this is my first post so bare with me :). My daughter is 3 years old and has a ventoline inhaler ince she was 10 months. At 2 years when they could officially say she had asthma they gave her a preventive (the brown one) The dose of which goes up and down as she can go months with no asthma

Daughters asthma seems to be getting worse instead of better
I have been recently visiting my doctors with my daughter sarah who is eight due to her asthma being uncontrolled. Sarah is on flixotide, salmeterol and salbutamol. She is needing her salbutamol quite a lot (up to 5 or 6 times a day) her peak flow is also low and my friend mentioned to me that she

doctor refusing to refer to specialist
hi, Brief summary as i don't want to continue my earlier post last month 'urgent advice needed' as urgent advice is not needed at present. My 3 year old son has had 4 lots of breathing attacks in the last 4 months - the last 3 requiring hospital admission overnight. On the first discharge he was told

My 5 year old has mild Asthma, only had one bad attack. He is normally fine on a day to day basis, but now and again his asthma can flair up for what ever unknown reason. He has been on steroid inhaler for almost 3 months (since the bad attack) but is now having his first asthma symptoms since starting

How well do you know your meds?
I'd just be interested in others opinions/experiences before possibly deciding whether to make a complaint about an A&E doc - I'm not a complaining type, but this one was in my view being ridiculous. She asked me what meds I'm on. Sensible question. I'm on 18 regular + other occasional meds, so always

Symbicort SMART, histamine challenge test, ethanol free atrovent
Hi everyone, Several questions here. Just wondered if anyone has any positive or negative views to share about Symbicort SMART. I've just been switched from Seretide to Symbicort. I understand the principle, however I'm slightly paranoid about bone density at the moment (with good reason), and I'm
