Sorry MIA- Home IV antibiotics and now steroid diabetes
My allergist and a llung specialist my GP sent me to see at Columbia (NY Pres) in NY, NY agree that I should stay on Dulera and
Flovent
2 puffs each twice a day (which I usually do while sick but for some reason my local pulm. doesn't want me too).

Severe attack-anyone taking Zileuton Extended Release?
Right now I'm on Dulera 2 puffs twice a day,
flovent
220, 2 puffs twice a day, levabuterol and ipatropium nebs 6x a day, motelukast sodium, and an antihistamine. Turns out they came up with a new drug i've never heard of.

Lung specialist totally stressed me out!
And went up from three puffs of
flovent
twice a day to 4 puffs. (Also in my plan and when I saw my doctor he said
flovent
is better than the steroid pills). He also has told me
flovent
can take 7-10 days to kick in, so I was just praying that if I took it right away it would work this time.

Does anyone else get this?
This year I've been taking zirlukfast as usual,
flovent
220, 2 puffs twice a day, and then ipatropium and levabuterol nebs, or inhalers, as needed. When I''m sick I really do use the nebs, but haven't figured out a good way to use them at work due to how busy work is.

13 year old with asthma- a few questions
All we have is her ventolin inhaler and a preventer called
flovent
. So, my questions are : a) Why did she go from so mild to this? b) How do I go about getting her the action plan, peak flow meter, etc. c) Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any input at all would be helpful! Thank-you!

Cough Variant Asthma - not alone..........
One is an anti tussive suspension cough medicine called Tussinc which calms the cough reflex (short term use only apparently), and a new inhaled steroid called
Flovent
. I struggle with any inhalers as they make me cough my head off (!!)

I am currently on
Flovent
and have been always, which is a steroid, I am not sure of the dose of it or anything but I am starting to get concerned whether it is good or not.

My youngest son, who is now 12, has mild to moderate asthma and is well controlled on
Flovent
. He is recovering from H1N1 and it's been about 10 days now and his cough is constant and terrible.

Methylprednisolone IV
He has a note from his doctor on his usual treatment but they have him on a methylprednisolone IV and then oral prednisone for a week, plus he is still using his
flovent
8 puffs per day. Isn’t this a bit of overkill.

Out of control asthma: how do I survive?
I have been using a steriod inhaler -
flovent
- for several weeks, but doesn't seem to have much effect. I also have a rescue inhaler - albuterol - that helps a little, but the coughing spasms that it causes almost makes me not want to bother.

Inhalation Injury - New to asthma and asthma forum
I used fluticosone inhaler (
Flovent
in US) for 1-2 weeks with no apparent benefit. Since this accident my airways feel as if they've been burned or like a sort of continual bronchitis. (And you might imagine I'm practically scared to death).

Feel like I failed because I'm on pred. AGAIN
I went up on advair 250 when this first started (which for some reason was giving me way more heart issues than usual), so I requested to switch to
flovent
220, but then was still having trouble so added taking atrovent 4x a day (to avoid levabuterol as it also makes my heart race for hours).

Up and down...do you get this?
So I'm taking
flovent
and another one, and a rescue inhaler. Anways, Wedneday got better. Didn't take much rescue inhaler. Thursday, bad again. Took more rescue inhaler. Friday still bad. But seriously I'll feel all right, then all of a sudden I don't, then it might get better again.

Short Memory
He upped his
Flovent
to the daily max and is now feeling much better. He informed me that his asthma really isn't that bad! How can he forget that he almost died a couple of months ago! He says he is feeling better and has even missed some of his daily doses.

Hopeful...how strange is this?
So the exciting news is....I can actually breathe and I'm only taking singulair and one puff a day of
flovent
(no long acting broncodilators). So I'm really hopeful taking less meds will work this time.
