Maddie has been through some horrid times and since being on twice daily

Throat problems
They can only suggest upping my oral steroids and stopping nebbing my
budesonide
. At the moment I'm still taking the flucanazole as the only alternative drugs are for flucanazole resistant thrush and my gp practice has said the drug is too expensive.

Oral thrush
I take lots of inhaled steroids, seretide accuhaler and
budesonide
turbohaler, so don't use a spacer. I have never had a thrush problem. I saw the consultant on Friday, who looked at my throat, said it looked abit red, but was not a problem.

Is this normal???
I'm usually on 400mcg twice a day of
budesonide
, 120mg fexofenadine, 30mg lansoprazole and as required ventolin. Helpful GP changed the
budesonide
to Clenil last week but I couldn't get on with it (kept making me cough when I used it - ???

Change of Inhaler...
However, having today picked up a repeat prescription this has been substituted for Symbicort, which in addition to 200mg of
Budesonide
also contains Formoterol, which we understand is a broncho-dilator (or reliever).

Bricanyl inhaler
Any help would be appreciated, as at the moment I have only a preventer (
budesonide
turbohaler) to use with no reliever whatsoever if I should need one and as you can imagine, I am very concerned at the situation I find myself in. Rgds Marilyn

Neb Guidance
We got Holly's nebuliser a while back from cons so we could neb
budesonide
and salbutamol. I'm obviously very clear on the
budesonide
in that its twice a day but I was never given clear guidance on the salbutamol.

Budesonide & nebuliser
Hi I've been using my little omron microair to nebulise my pulmicort as I'd been advised so long as I added saline to it it would be OK. The NWLC are now querying if it is actually up to the job, the thinking being my asthma is out of control because I'm not getting the right dose. Does anyone else use

Fed up :(
Replies to: Fed up :(

inhaled steroids and nebulised steroids sound really high but the dose isnt much bigger in reality its just the way it gets into your system, especially with
budesonide
, - they use it in hayfever nasal spray to damp down reactions. xxx

Has anyone had tests for Primary Ciliary Dyskenesia?
Would
Budesonide
help if it were PCD or by her showing signs of reacting well to this drug tend to show an Asthma diagnosis for sure? Sorry......all a bit confusing!!!!

Do Asthma meds make you immunosuppressed??
My little girl is taking
Budesonide
(pulmicort) 1mg twice daily as well as other things. This is a high dose considering she is only 2 years old but its keeping things at bay hopefully. Online information about
Budesonide
states it is a strong steroid that can leave you immunosuppressed.

Problem diagnosis? or problem GPs?
I was put on an inhaler (
budesonide
: eventually, 1600mmg daily). Some input from chest con. No desperate problems again, but no real progress, and a sense that I was being 'managed' in a slightly desultory manner, until... Last December: severe chest infection, four weeks off work.

Any advice change in symptoms due to cold weather?
We managed to get her back onto flixotide and ventolin inhalers a few weeks ago but had to change her back to nebulising
budesonide
and ventolin again recently to try to stabalise her a bit.
