Planning a holiday this year? Do you avoid sunny places or do they help with your lupus?

I've just come back from four weeks in Fiji where we had 37C on some days. I was sensible and stayed in the shade when it was too hot but overall the sun rather helps my lupus than not. My skin is incredibly smooth and the rash I had in the weeks before completely disappeared. I feel a lot more energetic when I am in the sun and all my holidays are taken in a warm climate.

You're not alone, a lot of people (myself included) feel better in the warmth and I don't get rashes so the sun is usually ok too. Of course a nice break free from stress is also obviously helping! ;)

I think that's the main thing.... no work stress ;-) Now I just have to figure out how to get over the jet lag. My sleeping pattern is all over the place.

I always feel drained when the temperature rises and I get swollen feet, legs, hands and fingers in the sun as well as rashes. I have to wear flip flops as my shoes no longer fit. On the upside it is nice to sit in the shade when the temperature is high with a cool drink.

I'm the same Willow and I was a real sunworshipper - still I'm not moaning, it's just a different way of life!

And don't forget we're all very youthful looking as we haven't been sunbathing so less wrinkles yay!! :D

The sun definitely makes my Lupus and rash a lot worse, but I do love the warmth of the sun so i just stay in the shade more to avoid it being as bad, but can still feel the heat :)
