Since 1973, death rates from melanoma (the most serious type of skin cancer) have risen by 219% in men, compared to an increase of 76% in women and statistics reveal that men are 69% more likely to die from the disease! AND outdoor workers (most of which are men) are at 60% greater risk!

Despite the fact that 1 in 4 men in the UK will develop a form of skin cancer in their lifetime, men are less likely to cover up with clothing & wear sunscreen, check their skin for signs of change or visit their GP with any concerns.

Share this with the men you care about. And if they are employed to work outdoors, their employer has a duty of care to ensure they are educated and protected - get them to get with the programme at: sunsafeworkplaces.co.uk

For all the advice, guidance and self-management tools anyone and everyone needs to reduce their risk of skin cancer and detect the early warning signs - install the Skcin App on your mobile device:

Go to: app.skcin.org

(using Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android)

Tap ‘INSTALL’ and ‘Add to Home Screen’
