🍀 ☀ With British Summertime just days away and the UV Index rising, remember when the UV Index reaches 3, to use Skcin’s Five S’s of sun safety to protect your skin from the damaging effects of UV and reduce your risk of skin cancer:

1) SLIP on clothing (our first line of defence!)

2) SLOP on Sunscreen (SPF 30+ with minimum 4 star UVA protection) applied liberally and frequently

3) SLAP on wide brimmed hat

4) SLIDE on quality sunglasses with UV protection

5) SHADE from the sun, particularly during peak UV hours (11am - 3pm)

1 in 4 men and 1 in 5 women will develop skin cancer. Getting to know your skin and performing monthly skin examinations to spot any new, unusual or changing lesions can save lives!

For all the advice, guidance, tools and resources you need to help you reduce your risk of skin cancer and detect the early warning signs - install the SKCIN APP on your mobile device:

Go to: app.skcin.org

(using your phone’s Safari browser on IOS or Chrome browser on Android)

Tap ‘INSTALL’ and ‘Add to home screen’
