This month's expert speaker is medical researcher, Dr. Simon Heeke. Dr. Heeke will discuss advancements in the treatment of SCLC.

Dr. Heeke received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular Medicine from the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria, before completing his PhD at the University Côte d'Azur in Nice, France. In 2020, he became a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of John V. Heymach in the Department of Thoracic H&N Medical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he develops innovative biomarkers in lung cancer with a focus on small-cell lung cancer and liquid biopsies. He serves as the current chair of the young committee at the International Society for Liquid Biopsy.

LiveLung hosts a series of monthly educational lung cancer patient meetings. Go to livelung.org/smallcell to learn more about the group and to register for the meeting Zoom link.

We hope to see you there!
