Nearly 20 weeks , not felt any movement yet .

Hi ladies . I am starting to feel a bit unsettled . I will be 20 weeks tomorrow . I haven't felt my baby move yet . This is my 1st and have my 20 weeks scan on Monday . When I conceived I had a low BMI and did have still at 15 weeks despite not having any sickness and a massive appetite . I wouldn't say my stomach muscles were great , but I am not unfit per se. So I would have expected to feel something by now. Also I am on the older side of young ( that's what I tell myself ) at 35 . I suppose I am starting to feel like I did before my 12 week scan and hoping that everything is ok. There have not been any indications that anything is wrong , but after reading up on different forums , most women have felt something by now. I don't think I am usually this much of a worrier , so sorry to sound silly .

With my first i didnt feel any kicks till i was 22 weeks. Try not to worry, if you havent felt your baby yet thats not uncommon as they say you can feel it between 16-22 weeks. I am 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd also have my scan on Monday :) and have only recently felt kicks in the past 2 weeks. But they say that you tend to feel them earlier if its not your first. Just relax and try to enjoy your pregnancy, its a wonderful time. You have your scan in 4 days and you'll get to see lots of kicking :) even if you cant feel it just yet. Race you to the hospital ;) all the best x

Thank you Mumaj :) . I have been trying not to worry and maybe concentrating on feeling something too much . I think after waiting for the scan for so long , I was looking forward to feeling kicks as to have something to concentrate on . It can feel like such a long time between appointments . I feel a long weekend of waiting is ahead . Are you finding out the sex or are you waiting for a surprise ? Let us know how you get on . I know I'll be ready to go at 7am Monday ;) x .

Thats ok. I know it can just always feel like the waiting game but when your baby is here this will all just be a distant memory. Soon you'll be wishing time to slow down. I want to find out so hopefully we can. As long as baby plays the game. What about you? X

Hi - I am 21 weeks. I had my scan last week and was asked by the person scanning if I had felt the baby move yet. I said that I have days when it moves but no kicks and then days on end when I dont feel a thing. She said it was because my placenta was on the front and therefore could be cushioning the kicks and it could take a bit longer to feel them.

I seen baby moving on the screen but could not feel a thing - I am hoping by christmas Ill be able to feel baby move every day.

Try not to compare yourself with others as each pregnancy and baby is different and therefore will feel stuff at different times.

Hope all goes well for you

x

Thanks again Mumaj . Yes I am afraid that we are terribly impatient and are going to find out too :) . I can not wait for the day I wish that time would slow down. But we are half way there now . Thank you too h3l3n . I know that no pregnancy is text book he he he ;) it is very random and downright weird at times . I guess I was just hoping to have some sort of signal from inside. Can't wait till Monday now . Hope all goes well for you too . Ill keep you posted . X

I htink it depends a lot on where your placenta is. Mine is at hte back so I felt movement from 17 weeks but my friend didn't feel anything until 22 weeks and hers was at the front so don't worry too much. Good luck.

Wow ! Congratulations ! Hopefully your placenta will rise , I think it is quite common . And you get to see her again :) . We are having a boy :) :) . I have an anterior placenta , which explains why I can't feel anything yet . He was moving , perfectly formed . I am on cloud 9 still . What an amazing experience ! X

I know how you were feeling as I also have a low bmi, am 32 and it's my first too. I didn't feel any movements properly until about 22 weeks (which does worry you when others seem to be able to feel them earlier, but it's normal and everyone is different) - I also have an anterior placenta which cushions moves at the front :-) I am glad that all went well for you at your scan, believe me those kicks will get stronger, I am now 32+3 and my little boy is so energetic! You will soon be able to feel every roll over and hiccups too - a great experience! xxx
