I am 5 weeks pregnant with 2nd child, wondering if ok to still carry my 4 year old?
im sure it is perfectly healthy to lift him up , heavy lifting means things you would find hard to lift like moving furniture etc , i was pregnant with a livley 2 year old and never had any problems from lifting him and running around after him . hope this helps dont worry and enjoy your pregnancy x
Hi there thanks for replying, some people have put me off saying its dangerous and logic tells me this cant be true but feel better now
thanks xx
I think the advice only applies later in pregnancy and like Chazm28 said, only really heavy stuff. I read somewhere that to pick up toddlers you should crouch down to their height, hold them close to you and then lift them using your knees (so just the same as how you should lift a heavy box or something). I have a clingy 19 month old who insists on being carried down the stairs most of the time and I'm 19 weeks pregnant and haven't had any problems. I don't think you need to worry about lifting your little one.
