Hello! My baby is 4 month and is mixed fed. Lately is more breast milk than formula but a few weeks ago, when the constipation started he was having more formula as I was ill and lost a lot of my milk.
Today is day 6 of no poo We tried massages and bicycle moves but nothing helps. What should I do? Should I give cool boiled water? If so, how much? I’ve heard of giving juice (?!). Any advice will be much appreciated!

Breastfed babies can go for days without pooping. My friends little girl went for 12 days.
If baby isn't uncomfortable or straining, then just wait for the blow out 😬 it'll probably happen if you have somewhere to be on time and have just put a fresh nappy and best outfit on baby.
I you're worried maybe give your GP or health visitor a call, good luck
hi there! Formula can cause constipation but equally breastfed babies can go a while between poos (which isn’t constipation- you’ll know which it is if the poos are hard/pellets or not when they do come ) so it could be either case here
Babies under 6 months shouldnt be given water (some exceptions for formula fed in extremely hot weather) and definitely not juice.
Is he happy in himself otherwise?! Is he weeing?
If you go somewhere really inconvenient to change a nappy they’ll probably go then!! x
thanks all for the advice! Just an update in case other parents are going through the same thing…he did poo yesterday after 6 days and it looked completely normal. So he wasn’t constipated after all! I think I just need to be patient specially if he is well in himself, which he was
