Spotting

I had trans vaginal scan last week and doctor said there is no heartbeat my gestation sac was 25mm and fetus was 10 mm . Doctor said I m 6.3 weeks but she couldn’t find heart beat so she asked me to come next week . Past 7 days I had mild spotting or brown discharge when I wipe clean my self after toilet. However today I can see some red blood and it’s scary when I wiped . Pls suggest. I can’t see the doctor today

I'm really sorry, I don't think anyone can give you a definite answer.

Not all bleeding is a sign of anything wrong, but it should always be investigated. If you've got another scan coming up they'll be able to tell you more, if not, I would contact your early pregnancy unit or midwife and see if they can arrange you a scan

I’m going through exactly this, no different to you at all, but I’m a bit earlier than you. It’s very scary but I’m told it can be ok. I’m just telling myself if it’s not period heavy or worse for now so it’s ok... but I’m just waiting. Defo call your GP/midwife though. I called my GP they’ve done a swab to rule out infection but otherwise told me to sit tight. They wouldn’t let me speak to a midwife but luckily a family member is so I asked advice and she said early on ‘light bleeding’ not even spotting isn’t always a bad sign unless it gets heavier. Mine has been spotting, it’s intermittent, so she’s reassured me to monitor it incase it becomes a heavy flow.

I consulted two doctors and they both told there is no heart beat in TVS . She said I had missed miscarriage. Probably because I panicked a lot and cried a lot . I have booked into d&c on Saturday.

Thanks for replying 🙏 I still haven’t been seen doc keeps fobbing me off but I’m bleeding heavy now so safe to say it’s a MC. Just called now to see if they think I should be checked out or not x

With one of my miscarriages I went to a hospital with an early pregnancy unit who saw me that day. They scanned me and did some HCG blood tests. Maybe you can find a hospital near you that has a similar department?

Many women have bleeding during pregnancy so this may not mean the end. I hope it all works out for you.

Hi there hope you don’t mind me asking how far gone you were? I’m 4 1/2 weeks and doc told me to sit tight as I’m defo MC but they won’t check me as I’m too early... my mum and husband want me to go EPU to be checked but I don’t want to waste their time and be turned away. I’m spotting on and off have been for over a week and it’s not got heavier, I just want to know what’s happening is all so I can deal with it.

I was 4.5 weeks for my first and 6 weeks for my second. I don’t think it will hurt to go to an EPU just to understand what’s going on so you don’t speculate and become even more stressed. You can call the EPU first as with the Covid situation, most of these specialist clinics no longer have a walk in policy.
