Anyone been in a similar situation? I'm totally freaking out. π
Hi I have been tested positive for co... - Pregnancy and Par...
Hi I have been tested positive for covid π and now scared for my 2 week old baby and my 5 year old as I obviously been in contact π
It's been shown that children don't really suffer badly from it, so if they catch it from you the most likely they'll just show a few cold symptoms. The best thing you can do is keep breastfeeding baby so that they get your anti bodies to help them fight off any effects of it and be ready with calpol and cuddles for your older child if and when needed, they might not even show any signs of having it.Hope you're feeling better soon xx
Thanks I'm just freaking out because I got like the worst scenerios in my head π but I understand children won't get it as hard... But my poor 2'week old Im feeling even more scared for. π Xx
I think you always go through the worst scenarios especially as a mum. If you're already feeling a bit better and temp is coming down, hopefully you're one of the lucky ones who only gets is very mildly and your kids hopefully won't have it at all. Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery xx
Testing positive doesn't mean you or your kids will get sick, so just look after yourself well and keep a close eye on your new born especially but you might well not even have any symptoms. Hope you're all ok, I know it's scary xxx
Thing is I had high temp yesterday and cough.. I have a little cough today nothing crazy... And my temp is lower today...
Oh hon, I can imagine how worried you are. Hope you're feeling better soon and your kids manage to avoid it xxx
Wishing your baby well xx
Its not exactly the same but my 3 month son had it when me and my husband tested positive. We called 111 and he ended up in hospital for.one night. But they just monitored him and didn't give him anything stronger than calpol. He recovered quickly and is now well except for a slight cough and stuffy nose sometimes. Please call 111 if u are worried. Get him checked out at hospital. Make sure his skin doesn't go patchy and he is feeding and producing wet nappies as usual. If his temp goes too high pls pls pls go to hospital. Babies and children fight it off much easier and faster than adults.
Hi thanks for your comment. How long was your symptoms for. What symptoms did you and your husband have? I'm isolating away from my husband and kids. I'm so glad you're baby is well.
Thanks. Tbh inwas very lucky and had no real symptoms other than back pain and general body ache. I was able to care for my son. If I had ot worse I dont know what I would have done. My husband had it slightly worse with a slight cough and lots of tiredness and body ache. But that was it. My son seems to have had it the worse but he was still fairy unaffected accept for 24 hours. For about 24 hours he slept loads, off his food and had molted skin and high temperature. Slight cough too. Thats when we were at hospital. But he was discarded because he started drinking his milk again and doing well nappies which is what the wanna see. But please please. If you are worried at all call 111 or 999
It's my 3rd day in isolation and I have no high temperature no aches just a slight cough. And yes I will phone emergency if needed. I'm glad you all ok it's nice to hear positive stories. π
The worst part of covid is I cant have any physical contact with my new born or my 5 year old π and stuck in my room breast pumping so husband can feed our son.
Wow how have you got that with a 2 week old did you pick it up in hospital wishing you well x
Think it was most likely from hospital... Because I was told to isolate there because I had been in contact with someone who has covid π
