Loss of appetite

Hiya

Im currently 12 weeks and still really struggling with my appetite and generally feeling sluggish.

I just don't have an appetite for anything (except chocolate digestives and ready salted crisps)!! When it comes to cooking the evening meal i can only decide at that moment what i fancy which makes it really hard to plan!!

Last night I made a bowl of pesto pasta as thats what i really fancied but then the smell filled the house and felt sick and now iv wasted a whole batch load of pasta! I fancied some blueberries and yoghurt, now thats gone to waste and i started eating melon but have really gone off that now so wasted half of that too!

The thought of eating meat doesnt interest me or vegetables or fruit! The smell of opening the fridge makes me feel nauseous from the general smell of food in there! Actually nothing interests me! I end up just picking throughout the day

I feel really conscious im not eating as much fruit and veg as i was and probably should be!

Is this normal? Will i ever feel like eating fruit and veg again?!!

Any simple foods people can suggest aswell would be useful!

Try not to worry about not eating fruit and veg and meat while you have morning sickness. I remember making a veg stew and couldn't eat it as the smell of oregano made me feel ill! I ate plain starchy things like mash and jacket potato, bread and butter, crackers, Cheerios, baked beans and ground rice when able. You will have plenty of time to make up the healthy eating later and will feel like it again! X

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I normally love fruit and veg and cooking but I was the same for the first 12/13 weeks I lived off ready salted crisps and probably ate 2 actual meals, I even lost 12lb. Now I’m 18 weeks and back to eating fruit and veg and full meals, although not back to normal. It seems really common and my midwife wasn’t concerned x
