Spasm/seizure

Hello! A bit of a strange one... I’m 33 weeks today and this morning I felt like a spasm/seizure on the side where my baby’s back is. Never had this before, it only lasted a few seconds but was very strong. I now have awful backache. Anyone else experienced this or know what it might be?

TIA xx

Where was the sensation in relation to your body? E.g. high/low, side of stomach /pelvis? Could it be a Braxton hicks or contraction?

That’s a thought... it was higher than my pelvis but from top downwards on the left side if that makes sense. Still struggling with my back now, feels like I can’t straighten up xx

When I had braxton hicks it was like everything tightened at once, pulling to the centre of my belly like the baby had rolled into a ball and my stomach felt hard for 5-10mins.

The pressure of your baby could also be pressing on a nerve. I had quite bad sciatica for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy and it disappeared as soon as my waters broke.

Maybe speak to your midwife, they might have other ideas
