have you taken a test? Do you have a reason to think you might be pregnant? My periods can be pretty irregular so depending on what's 'normal' for you maybe this is just an early period?

See my period isn’t for another 2 weeks , the bleeding I had lasted for 2 days and now it’s stopped

Have you had unprotected sex? If so I'd take a test in a couple of weeks. Although it seems unlikely I'd have thought based on the timing. 2weeks after your period is when you'd expect to ovulate, sometimes you can get spotting during ovulation although what you describe seems heavier than that?

Yes I have unprotected sex , the doctor did a test on Saturday and is negative .. I’m on the pill and have been since January

Ok, all you can do is take another test in a couple of weeks if you're worried. Did the doctor have any suggestions?

I mean lots of blood doesn't generally suggest a pregnancy, and if you're on the pill, as long as you've been taking it correctly then there's a very good chance you're not pregnant. I'd say buy a few cheap pregnancy tests and take one in a week, 2 weeks and 3 weeks from now just to be sure.

See the thing is I haven’t been taking it every day

if you don't want to get pregnant, maybe consider a different contraceptive method if you forget to take the pill.

I had really irregular periods - sometimes I would get them every 2 weeks, particularly when I was younger. The pill helped me a bit, but then I had a mirena coil and found that much better.

Highly doubtful. All the signs and tests suggest not. As someone pointed out, if your period was two weeks ago, this is your ovulation time (body releases an egg).

Typically even if this bleed isn’t a period, your body hasn’t had enough time for an egg to mature (in two weeks) for it to be fertilised. So if it is an egg it won’t be a viable one for fertilisation so wouldn’t result in a baby.

I have irregular periods as I suffer with a condition called PCOS (super common and not serious). My point in mentioning this is there can be a LOT of reasons to have random bleeds between periods. More often than not, no issues to be concerned by.

If you find you are bleeding randomly between periods for a pro-longed period of time, then this is something I would see the GP about as no harm getting it checked out. I had random bleeding between periods when I was around 19 so they did a smear to check the health of my cervix.

So...don’t worry, it’s common and most likely nothing. Especially if you’re younger then it can be erratic anyway.

Random bleeding between your period can be for all sorts of reasons. I had this on and for a couple of years ago, and like you it was quite heavy. I had a smear test and then an internal scan to check all was ok and nothing was found (they were looking for polyps). In the end they put it down to weight loss and it settled down. Go back and ask to see a different doctor, maybe a female one, if you are worried.

If you’re on the pill and not taking it consistently, then you could be pregnant. I would take a test in about a week to see if there’s any change in the result.
