Hi Leprecy,

These sound like Braxton hicks which are your body's way of preparing for labour, they're often referred to as 'practice contractions'. They are common in the third trimester (28weeks to birth) and are nothing to worry about as long as they are not:

-Lasting 50 seconds or longer

-A consistently intense pain

-Your waters have not broken

-You can feel you baby's movements

Make sure you are eating and drinking normally and passing urine frequently.

If the discomfort becomes more frequent and lasts longer or you think you waters have broken or you have concerns about your baby's movements you should contact your maternity unit for further advice.

To ease the discomfort you can take baths, ask someone to give you a lower back massage or use a warm compress/hot water bottle on your lower back (you should never place a warm compress/hot water bottle directly onto your abdomen).

Hope this helps and good luck with your pregnancy

Hallo pregnancy

Thanks a lot I was worried 😩 and surely I will try hot water bottle to ease the pain and yes they don't last long they come and go just for 15 seconds not longer than your estimation. thanks again
