Me again! Bought a highchair secondhand but it takes up so much space in our tiny house. Was thinking of buying a bumbo seat for first weaning months since baby is still wobbly when sitting up. The thing is, these chairs look tiny and I don't want her to grow out of it within a month. Has anybody else been using one of these? And if so until what age was it suitable? it says 12 months but my daughter wears 9-12 months clothes despite being less than 6 months old xxx

bumbo seat
I got one, used from 3-6 months, I wouldn't bother now unless you can pick one up second hand. I used to use for breakfast when initially started weaning but don't use it at all now and my boy is 7 months xx
My nephew was only in his for about 6 weeks as at 3 months ge was outgrowing 3-6 month clothes. Saying that, the bumbo was a tenner from Gumtree, and was sold on again for what it cost when he outgrew it. I can't vetiver any baby would fit at twelve months unless they were tiny.

What about something like this as alternative
My daughter hated her Bumbo! Plus I couldn't squeeze her gorgeously ample thighs in it past 6 mths. The alternatives suggested look great though. When I started weaning her I filled her seat out with blankets to save wobbles or knocks.
Hi! My lg grew out of the bumbo seat really quickly (she's got quite substantial thighs and it was tricky to get her out!!) As for high chairs I would totally recommend the IKEA Antilop which is only £13. It's simple but brilliantly designed, easy to clean and not too wide - legged. Good luck with the messy weaning adventure!!
thank you! xx
Oh yes like someone else said, my lg sat on a cushion to start with but was soon big and steady enough not to have to.
thanks everybody! think I will be giving the Chicco snack booster a go, it will work as a highchair at home where we don't have a dining table, and a booster seat if I want to take it to visit friends and family. definitely not worth getting the bumbo!!
Yes I'm the same I wouldnt bother buying one unless you get it second hand as they are very expensive for what they are and the babies grow out of them so quick. I didn't feed my son in his as I thought you have to squash the babies to get them in and so their tummies must be squashed too!! Just a though x

I bought one foot under a fiver at a NCT nearly new sale and was immediately advised against them as they force a baby's legs into a position that isn't natural at that age, i.e. straight out in front. We have an Antilop high chair, and several of the kind that people use out and about that you put on chair backs like a t shirt and sit the.n in
Yes, as soon as she starts sitting on her own you won't use it as she'll just roll out xx
