It depends if your breastfeeding or bottle feeding as bottle feeding mummies tend to get their first period sooner than a breastfeeding mummy will. My cousin breast feeds and she never got her for 6 months after giving birth where I am combination feeding and have just gotten mine after 15 weeks and am now on 1week 2day and still going :-)

I think it depends if you are breastfeeding or formula feeding. I am breastfeeding and am yet to have a period 14 weeks on, but had a few weeks of bleeding after I gave birth which is normal.

Still waiting at 6 months, and am combination feeding. Was wondering when to expect it myself, misskIt!

They don't tell u all this when ur in hospital. I feel silly asking as there's a lot of silly common posts on here. Didn't want people to think I'm one of those xx

Still waiting at 22 weeks of b-feeding, and enjoying not having them very much! Post-partum bleeding lasted about 3 weeks or so, heavy for the first night.

I'm still waiting - my little man will be 8 months next week!! (he's still breastfeeding, but getting into solids big time so I don't think it'll be much longer to be honest). Feeling very happy about it.

Hey there, I am breast feeding my 9 month old and I had a very minor break through bleed when he was nearly 8 months but nothing up until then. I have just had a full 'normal' bleed now but the time between these 2 bleeds was longer then my cycles usually are by about 10 days. I am guessing that with the weaning process and my hormones dropping it was inevitable, I have not missed them at all and I expect it all to settle down and resume my normal cycles within the next few months xx

Most mums that breastfeed don't get a period until they stop (reason why people think breast feeding is a form of contraception!)Formula fed mums generally get them back a month after and have their usual regular period. It can depend upon how you were before with your periods too.

Once you give birth you have to wear ure pads as you can bleed up to 4-6 weeks (atleast)after. When you have your 6 weeks check up appointment they shall check with you then.Hope this helps hun :) x

Hello, my post-partum bleeding lasted for around 5-6 weeks both times. My periods came back at 6 months for first baby as we moved onto formula. This time I'm still breast feeding at 16 months, but periods returned at 12-13 months.
