"Period pains" at 35 weeks....anyone experienced similar?

I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and have been having "period pains" on and off since Friday. It has been a combination of lower back and lower abdominal pain (I guess I should really say discomfort as with it being my first baba I know pain will arrive at a later stage) with some hardening of my stomach. There is no rhythm to it and is sometimes pretty constant (like period pains would be), I was just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar or has any advice? It's my first baba and therefore unsure of what's normal, I don't like to make a fuss and create a "mountain out of a mole hill" but I'm just slightly concerned feeling such symptoms before the 37 week mark. That can a sign of labour Starting but also could be where the baby is engaging into ur pelvis more. . Do u feel like u have dropped? Have u got more room under ur boobs? I always say if in doubt check it out .. my contractions started off as period pains but became like mild contractions pretty soon after if urs is the early signs it could go on for weeks bit if ur concerned there is no harm giving trisgea call they will pop u on the ctg and just monitor u for a little while to see what's going on x

Another possibility is Braxton Hicks contractions, if you've already had these you'll know, but if not then this might explain it, but do ask your midwife if you're concerned.
