Hi guys,

Ive just been to the loo and when I wiped I saw some discharge that was cloudy but thick and clotted, a bit like the texture of snotters from ur nose (if thats a good way to discribe it). The clots were like period blood clots but in a discharge colour. Is this normal? Anyone else had similar? x

Hi hun.how far are you?cos it could be mucus plug but best to check it with your hospital or midwife.i used to loose cloudy discharge but never with clots(i had bv).its better to be checked and it would put your mind at peace xx

Hi there, I have had similar changes in my discharge since being pregnant but as I've had normal relations with Husband, no itching/odour or anything that would suggest infection/problem or bodily symptoms elsewhere that would indicate a problem I would put it down to the hormonal changes. During your first blood test they will routinely screen for any latent infections and sti's around 12 weeks and if you are sill concerned talk to your MW or GP. Very soon you'll have reached the end of the first trimester and, if you haven't already, had a dating scan which will hopefully settle your mind. Try not to stress too much about what is 'normal' in pregnancy, as each pregnancy is an individual experience and our bodies go through so many changes it can be hard to fathom whats going on sometimes! What is important is to acknowledge when you feel well, and to also seek help promptly when you don't feel well, as you know your own body best. I hope this helps :)

Yup i had the same, mentioned it to my midwife and she said its not uncommon to have a bit of discharge ( or slime as i put it ) at 12weeks as the placenta is taking over. Ive not had it since and im now about 14 weeks (And morning sickness is gone)
