How many ml EBM per feed?

I want to express some milk for the occasional feed. Baby is nearly 3 weeks.

Also,Was feeding aprox 20-40 mins every 2/3 hrs. Though last night suddenly wanted every hour for 10 mins!

God bet your knackered. I would say about 20ml. Your baby must be going through a little growing spirt.

Your baby's pattern is totally normal, and it is normal for babies to suddenly up their 'requests' as well. Expressing can be one option, but some mothers find the faff of expressing rather negates any benefit they get - it's up to you.

Most babies of 3 weeks will want more than 20 mls at time though , if the whole feed is being replaced with expressing.

A call to the breastfeeding counsellors on 0300 330 0700 will help you decide.

This is very helpfull to find out thanks HeatherN as many ladies on here are thinking of giving breastfeeding ago but feel abit anxious about it. I tried and wasn't successful with my 1st, didn't get a chance with my 2nd as had to go to theatre after labour so really want to try it with my 3rd.
