I'm nearly 12 weeks and I only went to my gp a couple of days ago to sort midwife out who should ring me Monday but not sure how long it takes for the appointment and scan as I'm quite far gone as with my others I've gone earlier thank you x

They can sort it out quite quickly especially that you are due to have one. I had to chase my appointment letter when I was almost 13 weeks just to find out that they lost me in the system. I ended up chasing my midwife and the appointment booking office when I was 14 weeks and in the end they fitted me in the very next morning (the last date I could have had my scan for Downs Syndrome). You may just want to ensure that your midwife faxed the request and on the same day call the scanning department to check if they received it. Then they can ask you on the telephone when you are free so you will find out before you get your letter. In my case, I didnt get the letter due to the eleventh hour.
