I’ve just been refused attendance allowance because incontinence is not a 24 hour problem, if I knew when my “urgency” was going to strike I’d be out and about!
I know there is no help. Cost of pads, extra loo roll and keeping to a diet that doesn’t make it worse adds up. I worry about not being able to afford my car in retirement as using the bus is challenging. Even now things have got better after a bile acid malabsorption diagnosis its still a lot of planning to go anywhere.
Yes I’ve recently applied for Personal independence in the hope I can help with these additional purchases and homeopathic treatments which cost a bomb but also told I’m not unwell “most of the time” & it was rejected. i’m not sure what incontinence products are available on an nhs prescription as I do have a medical exemption.
Sometimes I don't know when I'm going be incontinent. It just comes and I'm not aware of it.
I struggle to find suitable incontinence products as I’m a size 6, most stores only stock size 10 as their smallest size so end up having to use sanitary products as a substitute! The irony is I’m infertile from the radio so its a sad reminder buying sanitary products 😔
