Couldn't resist posting this photo. The wood is 2 miles from home. Isn't nature fabulous? Pouring here in S East and much needed.

Used to pick them as a child in the Fens!

I used to pick them as a child too! There is no greater floral spectacle in my own personal view and the scent is something you never forget!

Yes but pity they don't last long.

We are too, great big cracks in the ground already! It can rain in the villages either side, but always seems to miss us! xx

Beautiful😊

That's quite lovely diana1998 and I'm sure the bluebells have been thirsty and will appreciate our rain of today. It may keep them blooming a little longer for us. I must say I'm delighted to see how many areas still have bluebell woods though. Very encouraging! 😊👍

This reminds me of the bluebell woods on the Chiltern - between Oxford and Reading....but we also have bluebells in the Cotswolds!

Very paintable! But not in this gentle rain all day!

in reply to diana1998

Most definitely but as you say not in the rain. It's a wet day here in the UK.

Who doesn't like a bluebell wood? Lovely photo, it takes me back to my childhood. I remember that smell so well. Thanks.
