I think I know someone who had that. Had to have major by passes but sheβs okay years later. Iβm not in touch with her but she definitely had narrowing of the arteries in her legs and found it very painful to walk?
Thanks for your reply. I have leg pain intermittent but it's seems to get worse at night when I'm in bed. Once I'm up and about in the morning it's not as bad. I've got some x rays on Monday and blood tests to try and rule out some other conditions but been referred to the Vascular Team at the hospital. Thanks again and take care π
Thanks for your reply. Mine is very intermittent. Daytime mostly fine just the night and when I get up in the morning. π
Andy. My dad has this. His symptoms are leg pain when he walks which is relieved by rest. His developed into peripheral artery disease. My understanding is that it is brought on by exercise and relieved by rest f thatβs of any help to you.
Best wishes
My mother was diagnosed with this. She eventually had a successful operation to bypass a narrowed blood vessel in her leg. I believe if you have this you and the doctors are recommended to keep an eye on your circulation in general, including blood vessels around the heart. I don't mean to scare you, I think it's precautionary, but you could check with your doctor. I am sure they can reassure you.

My Dadhad this too. It is a narrowing in leg arteries and is worse at night or when resting. He had a big by pass operation on one leg when he was 86 and recovered we.l and lived to 97. He was under the care of a vascular surgeon.
HiI was diagnosed with this 7 years ago in my late 40s. Had angiaplasty which helped for a while. Then it happened again and I was in pain when I walked so slowed down..worse thing to do. Second angiaplasty last year but this time I was referred to claudication exercise clinic, smoke cessation clinic and prescribe statins and blood thinner. No pain anymore. Huge difference from first angiaplasty and treatment. Still cannot believe I not in pain everyday. Hope you have found more info for you.

Hi,Thank you for your information. I still have the same symtoms but so needs ys out seems to have gone but comes back with a vengeance!!They sent me for an MRI scan thinking it could be Sciatica but that came back clear! So my doctor has said it can only be Claudication but my tests on my ankles showed blood flow was OK?? So I don't k ow. Its just frustrating because I've been limping for months now. I've been on blood thinners Beta Blockers. Aspirin. Atorevastatin ETC. I had a. Heart attack 20 years.ago.i had an Angiogram in September which just showed furring of the arteries 2 of them. So hence the concern was another artery in the leg Just a long wait now.
But thanks again for your information. Good luck and good health to you and everyone on this site. πππ
Hi Andy, i had the same issues walking to the same part every day around 2 mile and my calves would feel like they had been skewered through the back.
Went to the claudication clinic and told to go on statin, aspirin and blood pressure meds.
Since then I am now up to 6k if need be but developed slight muscle twinges in my legs at rest , not sore and at present does not keep me awake, i actually believe itβs to do with the tabs,
Walking will help and I hope I can get it under control never been sent to vascular so I hope thatβs a good sign, good luck and hope they get to the bottom of it
