Hi Hylda, I'm sure cruise companies are itching to get going again, but even when it's deemed safe to do so, I wonder how many people will feel confident in cruising again for a while. My daughter, (who has never done it), asked my husband and I (who have), whether we would ever cruise again. I think the answer is 'yes', especially with our favourite company on smaller ships, but it won't be for quite a long time to come!

We gave up cruising on large ships quite a while ago. We now prefer the river cruises. Daughter wanted us to join them on one on the Danube next year, but OH says 2022!😢

I've not yet done a river cruise Hylda, but they really do look appealing. I definitely couldn't be sailing on one of those giant floating blocks of flats that dock here in Southampton regularly! 🤣

As others have said I wonder if people will feel confident to go on a cruise. I’ve been put off in the past after knowing someone trapped on one with a sickness bug that was doing the rounds on the ship So I think Covid will definitely have an impact. Lovely photo btw 😀

The shops have been going up and down for the last few months. Anchoring off for a couple of nights, then back into Southampton. Queen Victoria came in at 7.45 this morning!

I wouldn't fancy it but a lovely photo, thanks for sharing.

Cancelled our cruise this year, doing a river cruise next year instead.

Which river have you decided on. We did the Rhine with Riviera, I would like to do the Rhône but daughter wants the Danube!

Doing the Rhine, did you like it?

Fantastic. Rhône gorge lovely, places to explore. We even got bussed to see the North Face of the Eiger when we got to Basel

in reply to

I'm looking forward to it.

Was the ship OK?

Not my type of holiday but I would hope that anyone who goes on one stays healthy and covid free.

The Emily Bronte. Beautiful. Middle level cabin. Nespesso machine so coffee in bed watching the world sail by. Nothing too much trouble for the crew.
