Who is your favorite comedian and why? Multiple choice.
Please select all that apply:
Spike Milligan -- though I am attracted as much to his poetry as his humour.
What type of jokes does he do?
I don't think one could describe most British humour as being made of jokes. But I cannot think of any way to describe it. Spike was influential in his humour, being a precursor to Monty Python.
Carol Burnett Loved her show and all the skits
Richard Prior and Gene Wilder a real double act on and off the screen
I have to agree with you about Gene Wilder. Really funny! My top favorites are Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy and Margaret Cho.
Ron White, because he is hilarious.
The 2 ronnies for sure -none of todays comeidians ara a patch on them
Couldn’t agree more, but the team on ‘Would I Lie To You’ are just so funny, always sure of having a laugh when that’s on.
Who's on "Would I Lie To You"? I never heard of it. Is it on regular TV or cable?
Was on mainstream - and now on the repeats channel Dave
Dave?😀👍🌈
Yes. Strange as it may seem, that is the name of the channel.
Other for me Leah, it had to be the great Victoria Wood, God rest her soul.
Excellent poll.👍🌈
Thank you for saying that about the poll, Alicia. I appreciate it. My 3 favorite comedians are: Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy and Margaret Cho.
What type of jokes did she do?
You're welcome Leah. She would joke about herself quite a bit but I think it's best explained by this link, she was a British Comedian.

She was amazing and I like comedians who don't use swear words all their time to enhance their comedy, it's not needed. I also like Michael McIntyre, he's absolutely brilliant, I hope you can see the video below. If not, type his name into your search engine, he's a British Comedian.

I will have a look at the link very soon after lunch today. Thank you for letting me know.
Enjoy Leah👍🌈
Yes, I went to see her, absolutely fantastic..she was brilliant with Julie Walters xxxx
Oh you Saw her Lynne, what a treat. Yes 'Wood and Walters', fantastic duo. Victoria is sadly missed. I took part in the Moonwalk Midnight Marathon powerwalk all because I saw Victoria taking part, an inspiration.
xxxx💗💗🌺🌺💞💞💜💜
Yes, she was brilliant and a lovely lady. She was from Salford in greater Manchester. Salford is roughly 19 miles from us. Lots of love and hugs Lynne xxxx ❤️🤗💜🤗🌈🌹💗💞🌷🐱🌷😻😼😽🏵️❣️
Whatever Victoria turned her hands to it was a complete success and when it was Wood and Walters, well brilliant is all I'm going to say. Well 19 miles isn't far at all, it must be the Northern sense of humour, I've always said I love Northerners. Lots of love and hugs to you as well.
Alicia xxxx 🌈💖💖💖💜💜💜🌹🌷🌷🌺🌺🌺🌞🌞
Robin Williams was incredibly funny, all the time. I miss him and his comedy, have seen it all over and over on Utube.
Dave Allen, Morcame and Wise , Ken Different, Bob Munkhouse and lots more
Jonathan Winters; Williams' mentor. He just cracks me up with his ad-libs.
What was he in/on?
Oh, so many to list. This will be easier: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonat...
Check him out in You Tube; his stand-up improv. appearances are priceless.
Tommy Cooper was the best ever with his zany antics and foolish magic tricks. His craziness and manner of telling jokes were brilliant. Tommy even died in style doing so in front of a live tv audience.
Lucille Ball!!!! Never tire of watching I Love Lucy!
Larry David is brilliant. Curb has to be one of the favourites in our house😊
Probably Dara O'Briann - intelligent, great observational humour and a good raconteur.
Stephen colbert😂😂 He’s too funny
We usually record it for another day to watch since it's on when we're sleeping each night. There was one night that was really funny and I was laughing my head off recently after finish watching Jeopardy! and started watching Cobert right away.
I laughed so hard once and my mom was laughing too 😂
Did you see the show a few nights ago?
I have not I know that it’s on YouTube though ☺️
I did the same with the like button and it doesn't work. I'm glad you mentioned it. Thank you, Hiba.
Jerry Seinfeld. I love his simple, clean observational humor!😃😁😅
Present day would be Bill Maher, past - anyone from SNL. Gilda Radner, Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase and good old Jim Belushi. May he Rest In Peace. 🕶🐝
Freddie Starr was brilliant but not everyone would like him
Dave Allen, his sense of humour was so near mine, would have loved to have a couple of bevies on a night out!👍👍👍
I agree, but when I saw his recent show I was disappointed. He isn’t anywhere near as good as he used to be. Well, that’s my opinion anyway.
Are we speaking of the same person, he has been dead for a number of years, his jibes against religion exactly like mine, may his god go with him!
It must have been a more recent recording we saw then because yes, he used to sit on a stool in the early 70s when I first saw him and he was hilarious. But the more recent one we saw only a few weeks ago he was older and the humour not as good as it had been. Hubby has just googled him and yes we see he died in 2005. I’m sorry to hear we’ve lost another of our great comedians. Thanks for pointing out my error.
Is Health Unlocked American? I thought it was UK
Healthunlocked has American members ☺️ but i think its a UK site
I agree with you. She is a good one and it’s great when a person can laugh at themselves.😀👍🌈
I can laugh at myself, it's a good job with being accident prone!!! Even at our wedding , the men were in too hat and tails. We were at the point where the hats are thrown in the air and yes if course one had to hit me on the head!!! We thought it was my father in law who was oblivious as to what had happened. When we slowed the video down it was Dave's hat that hit me on the head😂🤣😂🤣xxxx 💜🤗🌈😼🌹😻😼🌻
Bob Hope and Red Skelton. The ones listed above are impostors!
Gary Dalaney
Red Skelton! He was funny kept you rolling with laughter & was always clean humor!
I don’t think many UK folk will know Red Skelton. I watched him as a child growing up in Australia and his mime sequences were fabulous. Such a naturally funny man. But freinds in UK have never heard of him. They have missed a lot of fun!
Bill Maher- his comedy is so right on. He is true to his art even if there are consequences. During his New Rules section I sometimes laugh out loud and I scare my cat.
Chris D'elia
Peter Kay
Morecambe and Wise. Victoria Wood. John Bishop. Rhod Gilbert. All very British Humour!!!
Peter kay or Billy connolly
Billy Connolly - the only comedian to get my mother to laugh at an off-colour joke. Brilliantly funny but Dad had to take the phone from Mum so he could tell me why Mum was almost in hysterics.
That's fantastic!! Yes, he's brilliant!! There are so many great comedians. 😂🤣😂🤣
Trevor Noah... Love his sense of humour and the way he mimics all people and accents!
Steve Martin, Jimmy Carr, Jo Brand, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, A favourite from my childhood Eric Morcombe to Ernie Wise’s straight guy....
Jo Brand's always been one of my favourites.
I also like Catherine Tate Show she really makes me laugh. I also like Little Britain with Matt Lucas an David Walliams as they also make me laugh.
Great Survey. A great way to bring peoples' spirits up.
I voted George Carlin and Robin Williams. I would have to add Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder, Jonny English and Mr Bean. Plus his attempt at being Dr Who for a charity event. He did a song with Kate Bush as well. For stand up observational humour I adore Billy Connolly.
Peter Kay, he makes me laugh without a lot of bad language
My most favorite is Tim Conway. No matter who he worked with he could break them up and get them laughing. He would get Harvey Korman and Carol Burnett laughing like crazy.
Do like Edie Murphy and Robin Williams, but my favourite is Jasper Carrott. Liked him enough to book and go to a live performance at a London Theatre. However never happened. We had a stage manager come out and ask us all to leave in an orderly fashion as there was a police notification of a bomb scare, everyone laughed and stayed where they were. Jasper came on to massive cheers, and said the same thing, all the audience laughed, I think it took 3 goes, before he could persuade us to leave. When outside, we realised it was true, loads of police, ambulances and fire engines about. Later thought he must have been brave, as I bet the Theatre personnel had tried to get him out straight away.
Billy Connolly, Dave Allen and Victoria Wood
Hi
There are quite a few I like including Peter Kay, Victoria Wood, Dawn French, Julie Walters, Billy Connolly, Morecambe and Wise, Cannon and Ball, Tommy Cooper . All these people have been and are loved by many 🤣😂 xxxx
😂🤣😂🤣
Larr the cable guy
Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais....he said something once that rang so true with me that he will always be my favorite everything. "When you can laugh at anything you are bullet proof. There is nothing in this world that can hurt you ." Not a bad way to view the world & life in general.
Fantastic and it really is funny! Thanks for sharing that, Hidden ! It made me laugh before I had a chance to type this reply.
Thanks for saying that about the poll, too! Much appreciated!
