Just re reading Gone With The Wind.
Rachel Green "Friends"
She was one of the Friends that I liked, too.
I could probably come up with a few more but brain fog right now. Lol
That's okay! My favorite female character is from "30 Rock"-- Liz Lemon.
Not a bad choice either.
Thank you! Did you watch Saturday Night Live? She came from that show years ago.
I didn't watch much of that. Seems a few stars came from that show.
Amy Pollard is also from Saturday Night Live and joined the "30 Rock" show when it came out. Both are good!
DErvla Kirwan in goodnight sweetheart & Jayne Seymour in somewhere in time . Both actors are my favourite & both very beautiful
That's good to hear. When did you see both movies/shows?
Goodnight sweetheart is a timetravelling show in the 90s starling nicholas lyndhurst who finds a time portal in the back of his shop that leads him to the 40s & in series 1 & 2 it starred dervla kirwan as a 40s barmaid
Somewhere in time is a time travel fantasy adventure starring the late great christopher reeve & jayne seymour - christ plays a playwright who meets an older version of a woman whose picture he saw in a museum but in her younger days & travels back in time & meets the younger her
I'll have to look it up on Google later this weekend. Thank you for letting me know. Christopher Reeve's is one of my favorite Superman actors.
me too He died doing a sport Ive been lucky to just fall off - equestrianism I was gutted & I cried for days
I understand that. I was shocked when I saw that being mentioned on the news back then.
Vera.
What was she in?
Vera - Murder
Was that a mystery show on regular TV? I don't remember it being mentioned on TV when I was watching in the evenings.
Been on ITV for years.Friday night repeats been on.I like her stands no messing. Brenda Blethin. I think it is.x
Beck “The Core”
That sounds interesting. What did Beck do in "The Core"? I never heard of the show.
🤣It’s a movie with Aaron Eckhart, and Hilary Swank. They are charged with fixing the core of the earth that has stopped spinning. It’s a sci-fi type of movie. She is a highly valued part of the team and it’s not an issue that she’s female. I like that.
I liked Hilary in Boys Don’t Cry.❤️🏄♀️
My favorite is Anne of Green Gables
She was a gem. 😊
Vera, from the TV cop show of the same name, very much a Northern England show. She is based on a character from the books by Ann Cleeves, she is over 40, maybe over 50. Wears an old mac and elderly hat (from thrift shops).Drives an old fashioned Land Rover. I hate females in shows, who scream, faint engagingly in a man's arm, I did used to love Cagney and Lacey.
Mary Poppins
Vicky Mclure in Line of Duty
Mainly coz she’s from Notts where I’m from, but love her character too
Sandra Bullock in “while you were sleeping “
I like her in a few other movies, too. Did you see her in " Changing Places"?
I don’t think so,, but I loved “ the Lake House” different times same place with Kenau Reeves.) at one time she lived down the street from me ( when she was married to that wrestler about 10 years ago. I never had a chance to speak with her though. Lots of security. )
Charleise Theron. In most anything. She has depth and range. I especially liked her in Aeon Flux.
That was only one familiar with as had not seen any of those shows
She’s my favorite, too! Toss up between Gildas sketch when she played a singer for a rock band. Too funny!❤️🏄♀️
Princess Leia (Star Wars) and Sarah Jane Smith (Doctor Who)
Clara Oswald doctor who and Sarah Jane smith from the adventures of Sarah Jane smith ☺️
That’s who it was! Thank you!❤️🏄♀️
😂😂😂
Margaret Thatcher, I always thought or hoped she was a fictional character to me?🙄🙃😂😂
Ok, I’m jealous. 😁
Go for it. You only live once
Clarke from the 100. She is strong and brave and steps up to take the lead when the situation calls for it. But she also has a caring and vulnerable side to her character
The larger than life character Lucy Ricardo in “I love Lucy”, played by Lucille Ball. She was a dizzy redhead who was always getting into scrapes, much to the horror of her husband Desi played by Desi Arnaz (who was her real life husband) and her neighbours Ethel and Fred played by Vivian Vance and William Frawley. At the time it was a very funny sitcom which I loved to watch every week with my parents.
I enjoyed that show, too and watched the reruns at a restaurant and also at an old job years ago. The Residents would watch the show every afternoon.
I’m glad you enjoyed it Leah, although I expect if we were to watch it now we may find it a bit dated and corny. 🙂
Maybe, but there are certain episodes that were my favorites when I saw them at dinner in a restaurant before COVID got really bad.
Anna Friel in Marcella because she is so cool when in tight spots and steady in under cover roles.
I like Pauley Perrette Alias Abby Sciuto Chief Forensic Scientist in NCIS, I think she is brilliant and like me down to earth, say what you mean and straight to the point
Jane Eyre from the book as she was a strong independent woman for her time and Kate from Line of Duty as she is also strong and so good at the job
My favourite character is Lady Chatterley, from 'Lady Chatterley's Lover', because in the film she was seduced by the actor Sean Bean, my heart throb!!
Ghostbusters was really good! I saw all the movies, too.
I've seen some Dick Tracey movies, but it's been a while since I had a chance. My parents watched Miss Marple a few times in the evenings during the week after dinner.
Thank you for saying that about the poll, Hidden ! Much appreciated!😀👍🌈
Bette Davis and Maureen O' Hara - in any part at all. Marvellous...
Sorry for any confusion. 'Lady Chatterley' was a 1993 BBC television serial starring Sean Bean and Joely Richardson. It is an adaptation of D. H. Lawrence's 1928 novel Lady Chatterley's Lover, first broadcast on BBC1 in four 55-minute episodes between 6 and 27 June 1993
It is hard to pick one as there are many of them out their. So I will just mention 1 or 2 perhaps 3 as my list would just go on and on.
I like Nicole Kidmen as she is such a good actress I love the films she has been in Stepford Housewives, Moulin Rouge (made me cry at the end). Including the short t.v series mini series to ( Big Little Lies, Undoing)
I like Melissa McCarthy in comedy films she always makes me laugh, (Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters,The Heat). I also like her in Mike and Molly.
I love Julie Walters she is such a good actress I loved her in Harry Potter, Mamma Mia 1 & 2 and many other films. She looks right down to earth.
I also liked the women cast in the updated version of Ghostbusters, women power.
Leonard Hofstadter in the Big Bang Theory. He's cute, naive, struggles socially. I like the way he is so understanding towards the narcissistic and frustrating Sheldon Cooper.
Leonard was one of my favorite male actors, too from the show. Penny was my favorite female actress. She was understanding and taught the guys how to fit in with everyone else. Very patient.😀👍🌈
Amy is my fav from the show. She's funny, insightful, and cares deeply for the group. And she turned Sheldon around from being critical and egoistical to slightly less so hahahaha
That's right. Amy did help Sheldon learn how to be a little more less critical of others. I remember her also being on the show "Blossom" years ago.
I wouldn't exactly say Scarlett's my fav of all time, but definitely the best out of the choices available.. I can quote nearly all of her lines from movie. 💨
That's okay. What is your favorite line that Scarlett said in a movie?
Yes she is, it's still running 😉
I remember watching Roseanne as a child, that really brings back memories.
