Cook a special meal with my husband. We do a virtual tour of the world, sourcing authentic recipe ingredients, including wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Simply have a lie in as I am up for work early on weekdays . Cold morning = TV with large mug of coffee.
Glass painting, sewing or gardening (if my hands are up to it)
This sounds nice and creative! Do you have any pictures of what you did for glass painting?
Yes I have a few, before Raynaulds in my hands I used to do alot more for presents or commissions from friends and fit it round my job.I'm self taught and found /find it really relaxing.
That sounds like a wonderful idea for gifts. Would you like to post some of your pictures for the group?
If figure how to Activity2004, I have a couple that I can show, as the others are packed away as I'm due to move soon.
You can either try to post them with a comment on the poll by clicking on the picture icon next to the emoji con for a smiley face, or attach it to a posting by clicking the write button and then go to Add a photo button and put it on the posting before publishing/posting the entire posting. Click post when ready.
Thank you very much, will give it a go 😬
Church in the morning and then walking or gardening in the afternoon if the weather is suitable.
Mine is spending time with grandchildren and family plus getting out in the fresh air.
Good poll Leah.👍👍
Thank you for saying that, Alicia. Much appreciated!
Your weekend plans sound really fun! Do the Grandchildren come both days?
You're welcome Leah. We normally see them on the Saturday.😊
I try to work out at least half an hour six days a week. At the gym, I am on the stationary bike for thirty minutes, and I then do some ab and upper body work for about fifteen minutes. On alternate days, weather permitting, I bike on a nearby trail for forty minutes to an hour, depending upon the route.
That's a great workout routine and time during weekends and during the week. When I was working before COVID, I would try to walk everywhere in my building and get exercise that way. When I'd be home, I would walk up and down the steps and take care of my Nephew/Niece every day, too.
My weekends are playing board games/other games, movies, reading, indoor BBQ/picnic and spend time on HU.
I work weekends
Reading, knitting for charity , doing word search or puzzles
Hello
Go for a boat ride and picnic outdoors. All the rest are very good choices though.
Go to the gym. Or take a long ride with the top down and have lunch somewhere nice.
Usually, on Saturday, my friend comes over, bearing junk food. Watch a movie, then a few episodes of Outlander or Brigerton. Sunday’s, maybe some coloring, chill til evening. More tv. Check PBS for any programs from the UK. And of course, in between, read the fun posts here on HU, like this . ❤️🏄♀️
Sleep! I work full time and am usually knackered come Friday night.

See friends/family, hiking, wine tasting
Seeing friends/family is very important. Do they come to you or do you go to their place to visit? Where do you go hiking and wine tasting?
We all live close to each other, so both. I live in the CA Bay Area, so there's a ton of beautiful places to go hiking... & wine tasting. The Livermore Valley wine area is very close by & we are members at a winery there, so go there mostly.
At the moment a big grill up on Saturday, I living by myself, still in essence in isolation, I bought myself a health grill, on a diabetes 2 diet, but just one day 'let myself' go, the house stinks after, but Sunday is wash day clean up, so never a day of rest, the worst day of the week! I'm usually pretty grumpy that day, 🥴visitors not recommended!😤
What do you usually grill on the grill? If you cook something that is low carb., that's okay, but you want to make sure that you have some carbs. at each meal/snack so you're blood sugar doesn't drop. I count carbs. for each meal and/or snack so I don't drop too fast or go too high. Plus, I use insulin a few times a day, so I don't want to use too much or not enough at each dose.
It has taken me about a year forming my own diet, strictly according to my health book [with its American spelling?] I started on the same day I went into isolation, at the moment my weight has actually increased a couple of pounds, I'm actually enjoying my diet! but that happily is just lack of general exercise, my blood has improved dramatically recently, even a promise of taking me off these 'pills' if it had improved enough for...?🙄
When I was young and fit, used to see friends, go up to Kings Road for coffee, snacks, a basement Indian market (cheesecloth clothes and good incense) also watching the young men sauntering by. Sundays was laundromat day, my housemate and I used to take the dogs, put the clothes in the machines and walk the dogs in the local park, whilst all clothes got clean, picked up an Indian meal on the way home. Things like swimming done after work in the week. Once I became ill, most of the weekend was spent sleeping, so I had enough energy to go back to work the next week. Now I snooze or read, or drop off in front of the TV as most stuff rather boring.
What books do you read on the weekends?
Anything new I have in, sometimes re-read an old one I love. JD Robb, or maybe an old Christian Jacq (ancient Egypt), or anything that strikes from a large selection.
I read some JD Robb/Nora Roberts. What series of hers do you like?😀👍🌈📚🐇📖
I have all the "in Death" series, one of the few I have on "forward order". I did read some one offs, in her Nora Roberts guise, but not many. Have had to become more discerning since I have retired, less money and now no access to 2nd hand shops, where I bought a lot of my books. Also when working I had access to all the books on sale in hospitals for their charities, found many new authors that way.
My Saturday afternoon routine for the past year has been to think up quiz questions We do a family quiz every week on Skype and it's really kept our spirits up during lockdown At the moment too I'm totally addicted to the TV series This Is Us !
Love gardening knitting jigsaw puzzles drawing and cooking so I keep busy and content
This sounds really fun for the weekends! What do you knit? What type of quiz questions do you usually do on Skype? How big are the puzzles you do?
Well I find a subject then I think up questions it's really good fun and nicer than general knowledge like I did Around the House and did questions like which model was married to Mick Jagger - Jerry HALL who plays the lead in Foyles War -Michael KITCHEN etc then a pub round Who were Whams backing singers PEPSI and Shirley all very daft but fun we always have a good laugh there are 10 of us I'm usually knitting for babies friends grandchildren but I do anything really plus I crochet cat blankets for the Blue Cross I love it can't sit watching TV unless I'm knitting or crocheting
I do 1000 piece puzzles love ones with cats in or nature ones the Gibson puzzles are gorgeous
Lovely idea to ask everyone what they do it was so nice to read the replies x
Sorting photos and long-playing records. And, now with a little warmer weather, yard, garden, and flower work!
Reading what others are doing! I’m not up to much these days.

We have the May 2021 Reading Rabbits book posting up now. Please see: healthunlocked.com/positive...
I like to watch anime and play genshin impact ☺️
Walking, cycling, camping..anything outdoors
Gardening, that is my saviour and essential for a ‘good weekend’
Sit by the beach, watch the sea...any weather.
Clean my large house !
Watching motorbike racing, either on the TV or at the circuit, once we’re allowed back - apparently sitting well spaced out in a field (which is basically what a circuit is) is as big a risk as sitting in a football stadium, and a bigger risk than going to the cinema, gyms, shopping etc! Go figure 😡
not so much a movie night but an after lunch movie that I know so well I can nap at anytime .. such as Mamma Mia and Ma and practice some of the seated set.
Long walk after zoom church service
Crafting and sometimes have a socially distanced wander around Walmer Castle Gardens.
This sounds like a great way to spend the weekends. What type of crafting do you do?
Mainly card making and paper crafts, jewellery, general sewing (masks, bags, dolls clothes etc) miniature bear making ... I’ve probably forgotten a few. Going to be on restricted activities for a few days now though as my neck went into spasm last night - worst one I’ve ever had! Got a little bit of movement this morning so I need to work on that or I’ll have to cancel the cat’s vet appointment tomorrow - sigh
I work on finishing up knitting and crochet projects. Finishing work on all projects
Walking in the forest or by the sea
Ohh and reading
Which books do you read on the weekends? We have a book posting for May 2021. Please see: healthunlocked.com/positive...
Also like to bike ride
I decorate a few gourds from last years crop.
Are they different sizes of gourds?
Hi Activity2004, the gourds vary in size, but most are about as large as a bowling ball. I make bowls, birdhouses, and vases. Lots of others here have good ideas too! I also love puzzles.
listening to online live platform Twitch & choosing a DJ doing 80s music shows & getting involved with the live stream chat & reacting when Tony Hadley & steve norman of spandau ballet put their comments in
At the weekend I either watch my football team Burnley or I try and keep myself busy but not over doing it.
This sounds a lot of fun for the weekends, Clive. Are the games on both days or just once a weekend?
Resting as much as possible
What do you like to decorate? Do you do the decorating both days or just one day a weekend?
The picture didn't get posted with your comment. Would you like to do a posting for it?
Thank you for saying this about the poll, Hidden ! I appreciate that very much.
These sound like great ideas for weekend projects and a way to see some friends.
It'll be a whole new world from now on - with care. I'm retired, so virtually any day can be chosen. I don't drive, so I can now get on a bus again! See the countryside again! Visit friends, shops outside my own area. Though Sunday is church & usually a walk away from shops.
go outside to walk or run in the woods or a nice park
This sounds like a great idea for exercise.😀👍🌈
yeah it is! really enjoy being outside when the weather is nice. Much rather do exercise out in nature
Word games, reading and coffee or meal out plus town walking when weather & lockdown allow.
My favourite weekend activity is catching up with my family.
My weekend routine is to go on social media and support anyone with epilepsy... That is my passion and having had epilepsy for 47 years, I will continue to advocate and educate others!
