What is pergola? I don't think we have that out here. Can you please explain it to me? :-)

in reply toActivity2004

A pergola is a structure usually made of wood, built over a seating area sometimes or over a path as an arch. You can grow climbing plants that will grow to cover it.

What do I do with the Snoods? A person can use them for decoration when they go outside in the cold weather/temps. and they go over your mouth/nose and sit on your neck. You put a mask underneath to keep from getting the COVID 19. :-)

Activity2004 Hermes123. None of the above! Crafts develop by myself one craft I develop myself about six years ago is called Art in Nutshell, coconut shells to be precise it took me a long time experimenting to get it right preparing the shell, then to get the perspective, luckily I had done photography for quiet a few years. My next project was wire art pictures, again another method of my own very neat and tidy method but lots of work, I love pushing boundary's. Hermes.

I did my training as an Occupational Therapist back in the very early 1970's, we did a lot of crafts, partly to occupy the patient's time (spent a lot longer in then), but also as hidden exercise. We had to do visits to jobs to see what a person needed to be capable of, to be re trained, I spent time at the Otis Lift company , my local bakers, Aston Martin watching panel beating and many more. As to crafts I can set up a weaving loom and weave a skirt length, pottery if required, macramé, soft toy making, enamelling for jewellery, drawn thread work, stool seating and so on. We had to do an activity analysis on every one of these, so you knew which muscles and nerves were required, how much strength and what mental abilities were needed. In actual fact, the best quick assessment of someone's abilities, is to get them to make a cup of tea. I do not find these activities particularly restful, as spend my time noticing what bits of me I am using, instead of enjoying them. My old head of college (she was old) was most put out that none of us wanted to learn how to spin, before we went on to weaving, she used to collect her Old English Sheep dogs fur and spin it. It was only when I went on a placement, learning about equipment, wheelchairs and property adaptations that I knew I would enjoy the job.
