I have had post natal deperession for 3 years. I had it after my daughter and my son. There was a time wer i was better in my post natal depression but still depressed. I could handle my daughter i felt like i had bonded with her but when i had the post natal i didnt want her. I was still depressed cus i cudnt get out of the house and still was down but it was different to the depression after i hady daughter. I think you will know how you are feelong.

Have you been to the drs or talked to anyone about it.

I wish u all the best as i know how hard it is to admit everything isnt ok. Xxxx

Hi there I hope you are well. Please note I am not a person with depression myself, I am a professional and can only give some basic information here.

Whilst the symptoms of depression and postnatal depression can be similar, postnatal depression is only diagnosed after childbirth. Whereas depression is a general term and can be diagnosed at any stage in a person's life.

If you think you are experiencing depression of any kind then it may be a good idea to speak with your GP and perhaps he or she can advise you on what can be done to help you.

You may be provided details for counselling which many women report can be helpful.

It really is best to access help and support.

On another note, my PNI blog on here was about research that I am conducting. I would like to ask in relation to that -Have you experienced postnatal depression do you think? Are you a migrant Pakistani woman? Would you be interested in taking part in a study?

If you think you fit the criteria for the research then please contact me on here.

Otherwise, all the best and if you are struggling in any way I hope you are able to get help and support.

Kindest regards,

Miss
