Dr Reddy's no longer making Pramipexole.

I just found out that the medication I am currently on will not be availble soon.

Email from Pharmac in response to my query

Thank you for your query.

Unfortunately Dr Reddy’s have stopped making pramipexole. Remaining stocks are of the 1 mg strength, but the 0.125 mg tablets are no longer available. We appreciate this is not ideal when varied doses are required.

PHARMAC are currently negotiating with an alternative supplier of pramipexole, in multiple strengths, and we hope to another brand funded soon.

If you wish to consider an alternative medicine in the meantime, we recommend you talk to your doctor. He or she is in the best position to give you advice and assess what other treatments would be suitable for you.

Don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have any further questions.

Kind regards

Hopefully they will sort it in time so no adjustment is needed for you.

I like this bit "If you wish to consider an alternative medicine in the meantime,...." How little Parkinsons is understood! As if changing medications is easy for us. As well the only alternative is Ropinerol.

It may be resolved quickly but if not have you thought of approaching PNZ regarding this?

Will pass it on to PNZ. Thanks.
