I suffer dystonia in my left leg / foot to the point I'm unable to walk. It strikes quite randomly but has happened more often recently. Quite freaky given I'm new to this and still relatively young (in my early 40's). Would be interested to hear others thoughts / experiences / remedies. Thanks.

Hey... I experience distonia in my left leg as well which also comes on quite randomly.. I cant walk or move until it goes. Can last for anything from 5 mins up until 45mins... I had a pysio come and spend sometime with me which was thru the parkinsons society but i didnt find him of any benifit at all.

My specialist has said the dystonia could be as a result of not enough sinemet but then on the other had i get diskinisia as well which is to much sinmet .... I havent found the right balance yet.

The distonia affects me at work and i have to stop what im doing and just wait it out. I stretch it as much as i can but find it doesnt do much.

I am in my late 30s

Taika it could be not enough Sinemet but it could also be caused by the Sinemet and if it is is likely to come on at peak dose time.

Different treatments depending on cause.

this dystonia is part of the wearing off effect of levodopa, and may be due to diet protein blocking your medicine, extremes of heat or cold waitin ok but eventually youll have to change medicine and considerdbs surgery etc

g it out is

Dystonia is awful, I have watched friends with it. Do you know if it is on or off dystonia as explained by Taika? You may find some information here.

Try benzatropine. Worked a treat for me!

I'm newly-diagnosed with PD. I understand the need for exercise, and thought I'd try Tai Chi.

can do Tai Chi at home as well as at the classes I'm attending.
